About this deal

This is the word that comes to mind when I think about Aliyah Umm Raiyaan's Ramadan Reflections. With her earnest, and at many times vulnerable, voice at the centre it's intertwined with the classical wisdom of old as well as the wisdom of recent. She's written it in such an intimate way that you almost think she's penning down your own thoughts. SubhanAllah. It's this layering of voice and experience that makes this a timeless piece- that of course I pray continues to earn her ajr until the end of time. Monthly log: the horizontal version of a calendar, you can use it for any of the uses of the monthly grid. Ramadan reflections is an intimate journal split into 30 chapters for the 30 days of Ramadan which guides you towards reflection, healing, deepening your spirituality and wisdom with Islam as the guiding light, leading you closer to Allah through the many tests you may face.

Ramadan Reflections: A Guided Journal: 30 days of healing

NEW! Qur’an Words: Increase your Arabic vocabulary and linguistic knowledge – one word at a time! Choose a word from the Qur’an each day. You may add a note on the meaning or usage in the space provided. This book is written with such compassion and encouragement, I’ve really found it such a beneficial read throughout Ramadan so far. It’s full of beautiful and incredibly meaningful reminders, including verses from the Qur’an, Hadith and sayings from some of companions of the Prophet (saws) as well as quotes from the likes of Ibn al-Qayyim.Ramadan Reflections is pretty much a roadmap for our lives; the reason, the seasons, the battles, and Our Merciful Lord, Whom she proudly shows off by some of His Magnificent Names and Attributes and Whom I proudly love more. This book is a keeper. You can keep returning to it over and over, as you grow and develop and find new meanings to each chapter/topic previously read. Taking inspiration from her own life and journey into Islam Aliyah explained: “I wanted them to develop an awareness of themselves by the end of the book. I like that it’s divided into 3 parts (an ode to the 3 parts of Ramadan 🥹). The first part focuses reflecting on the past; the second encourages reader to live in the present; and the last part gives practical tips on aiming towards an akhirah-focused future. Putting the chapters into these parts made it SO EASY to read. Deepen your connection to Allah and set purpose-based intentions for the year ahead with a daily guided journal for prayer, healing, and reflection during Ramadan. Within each chapter, the author shares her own personal stories and experiences related to each topic. She weaves in ayahs from the Quran, Hadiths, and quotes from Islamic texts. Each chapter ends with a dua, which was my favourite part. We often make the same duas without my variation and we don’t know what else to ask for, but Aliyah has written some beautiful duas related to the messages in each chapter and they really felt meaningful and heartfelt.

Ramadan goals: think about what is important that you achieve this Ramadan, reflect on the steps that will take you there in sha’Allah and record your progress.

This is a simple Ramadan journal that anyone can use, whether kids or adults. You can adapt our printable Ramadan Journal for the whole family. My Ramadan Journal During the month of Ramadan, Muslims typically complete the recitation of the whole Quran during tarawihprayers. Prayers that you have made, are making and will be making flow in sync with Aliyah’s own and some sections were so uncanny in how similar her reflections were to mine. Obviously hers expressed far more eloquently than mine! It is so beautifully written that I can’t even find a genre for it – snippets of her life like an autobiography, sincere Duahs like a book of supplication, space for reflection like a journal, advice to get closer to Allah like a book of guidance, quotes from The Holy Quran, scholars and hadith like a book of knowledge. She has been blessed to write this book and any reader of it is blessed to receive it. If you are a stranger to the title in the third chapter or are emotionally guarded she will challenge you to feel. Make sure you read Ramadan Reflections where you have few distractions. The Quranic ayahs, ahadith, and duas are beautiful and need to be savoured.
