About this deal

The alcohol is removed, but the distinctive character of Guinness remains just like Guinness, Guinness 0. We put cans of the new alcohol-free Guinness and Guinness Draught through a blind tasting to see which we preferred, how the alcohol-free Guinness tastes and whether our tasters could tell which one had no alcohol. Got guinness 0% recommended, i thought if the 0% lagers ive tried are anything to go on the guinness wouldnt be up to much? Even this small amount of alcohol affects me and it’s not great for anyone who is not drinking alcohol for religious reasons either!

boasts the same beautifully smooth taste, perfectly balanced flavour, and unique dark color of Guinness, just without the alcohol. at pubs across the UK and Ireland from Spring 2021, so if you're one of the purists who can't stand Guinness from a can you'll have to wait a little longer to get it fresh from the beer tap. is dark ruby red with a creamy head, with hints of chocolate and coffee, and is smoothly balanced with bitter, sweet, roasted notes. I was never a regular Guinness drinker, but would have had a few if I was in Ireland, or in a pub that actually knew how to pour the stuff. Opening the can, we get the famous ‘pschhttt’ as the nitrogen in the widget gets to work on the brew.is specially brewed to retain the characteristic flavours which make Guinness Draught our most popular beer. After their pretty disastrous initial launch I’m betting they’ve pulled out all the stops to get Guinness 0. The taste is roasted malt forward, hints of chocolate and coffee, with a good hit of bitterness and a background of sweetness. Last week Guinness released the first alcohol-free version of its famous Guinness Draught, and we cracked open some cans to find out how it compares. Accidentally, I took a sip of my mate’s alcoholic beer by accident, mixing up the glasses and was surprised at how thick it was by comparison.

Treacle, coffee, roasted malts and vanilla on the nose, restrained bitterness with more roasted grains, coffee and a slight caramel sweetness as we taste. For our blind tasting two testers, one a regular Guinness drinker and the other a Guinness novice, poured glasses of each drink for each other without revealing which was the Guinness 0. Because, and I honor all the positive comments- this is… Well I bought sixteen cans, and will drink sixteen cans… But I really wish I had bought four. Totally worth every penny and I just hope the supermarkets can keep up with the demand as they are always selling out which doesn't surprise me at all as this drink is spot on. Our tasters thought Guinness has done an excellent job of replicating Guinness Draught with its Guinness 0.

The nose is Guinness to a tee, dark roasted grains dominating, with only minimal coffee and dark chocolate notes. Highly recommend to enjoy when you are the dedicated driver or like us prefer this version without the effect of the alcoholic version. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Ocado Limited's prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. The brewers then carefully blend and balance the flavours to ensure the distinctive flavour profile and taste characteristics of Guinness. Crisp citrus bitterness when we taste, more grapefruit than orange I'd say, with an earthy background.

I feel that by Law they should have to have it printed on the can/bottle that the ball is supposed to be in there. I suppose this could be a danger for a lot of non-alcoholic beer, as the presence of alcohol in normal beer would help to inhibit such biological nasties. Both tasters identified small nuances that enabled them to distinguish two different drinks, but the regular Guinness drinker was the one who could consistently tell which one was the Guinness Draught. Sure, there are some great stouts out there, but nothing comes close to the taste of the black stuff from St James’s Gate in Dublin.
