About this deal

Since Gin also has two teenage sons, one husband, and three cats, she is thankful for intermittent fasting, which makes her life easier! I've shared her chapter describing insulin resistance a few times already to explain why I'm doing IF. She also explained the biology behind how it all works and provided extensive sources, referring readers to other books so that she could give a summary without bogging this book down with technical details. There are two ways to manage your fasting days; you can do a full clean fast, which involves only drinking approved beverages, or you can eat a limited amount, only taking in 500 calories on those down days.

I'm still a little skeptical of some aspects, but am definitely interested in trying it out and learning more! I thought it would be more in-depth and explain more of the science behind intermittent fasting, but no. I like that the author presents a disclaimer up front that she is not a medical expert and to talk to your doctor before starting this type of health plan. If you have been struggling with not being able to lose weight, you have a tire around your belly, you can't eat a lot of foods because they are inflammatory, you feel fatigued all the time, you feel like you are not thinking as clearly as you should. I now fast daily, and have about a 4 hour eating window in the evening because I like to eat with my family.

The author covers her weight loss struggles and all of her failed attempts in losing weight and then keeping it off. Like me I am sure many readers will identify with Gin's personal story and experiences of dieting approaches over the years.

She earned a Doctor of Education degree in Gifted and Talented Education (2009), a Master's degree in Natural Sciences (1997), and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (1990). I've had weight, pain, insulin and blood glucose issues for 12 years, starting in my first pregnancy.Been doing One Meal and Day on Intermittent Fasting for 4 months now with the helpful advice from Gin's Book, and I joined the FaceBook group she speaks on the in book, and I have successfully lost 24 pounds so far and still going! After reading this book I am excited to embrace the lifestyle change myself, and already know I will find myself referring back to 'Delay, Don't Deny' to keep myself inspired and and on-track.

It may be harder to adjust to this schedule and stick with it because it doesn’t build up as gradually as the others. In this audiobook, you will learn the science behind intermittent fasting and also understand how to adjust the various intermittent-fasting plans to work for your unique lifestyle. Her tone and emphasis support the idea that what you weigh and how you look should be of primary concern. My thoughts: This is my 4th book by Gin Stephens and it was just as good as the others but the shortest. Not only does she present the information in a way that just makes you believe that you can fast, but clean fasting is the difference between hardship and ease! I wanted to enjoy the benefits of fasting but also eat normal healthy food with a few indulgences so it fits with my family / social life. I love reading about her story on her own weight loss – which isn’t actually presented until the end of the book in the appendix section.
