About this deal

The fono mk3 has made a huge difference I felt, more than I thought it would. it has filled out the lower end a lot and made the sound fuller if that is a thing.

Often, it appears as a curve on a graph describing how a device responds to sound in a specific frequency range. On the chart, the “x” axis is for the frequency response in (Hz) hertz, while the “y” axis is the sound pressure level in (dB) decibels. This is the signal power level compared to the noise power level. Typically, the measurement is in decibels (dB). According to proven tests, a higher SNR produces better sound quality to give more signal than noise. If you find the appearance basic, the performance is going to blow your mind. Among its winning talents is the well-timing. Fono Mini A2D enhances music with passion and properly aligns beats making it unbeatable by its competition. In a budget system context, there is little to complain about here, as the presentation is decently balanced when it comes to tonality, and the soundstage, while not the most expansive or spacious, is perfectly acceptable. It uses a circuit that delivers equalization on the active bass and passive treble. Thanks to the even tonal balance, this phono preamp doesn’t consume more bass than it can handle. The audio signal output from a turntable is usually fragile, like 1000 times low, compared to a CD player. Therefore, there’s a need to boost the signal to reach the average line-level or AUX necessary for the modern amplifiers. I'd just like to point out for posterity that the case is actually made of aluminum, and the front looks foggy /cheap because the protective plastic covering is still on the polished and shiny nameplate. Remarkably, it creates perfect balance by treating every frequency with a similar texture and tone. This way, it gets to the high or low levels as long as your turntable allows it.

The tester's brain may have settled in - though that should have been fairly easy - since there was no change from the previous award-winning version 🙄 Reply immensely from the space offered to each line, allowing a sea of reverb to lap against the shore, while a taut but generous serving of bottom end offers solidity to Scott Hutchison’s vocal, even in falsetto. Trademark sound Even if you add in a separate stereo amp I expect that the fono mk3 would still add more for vinyl.Lounge: LG 77G3 | Anthem AVM70 | Accuphase C2150 | ATI AT522nc & AT527nc | ProAc DT8,Centre Voice, Tablette speakers | JL Audio F112v2 | Dali K60 x 4 | Panasonic UB9000 | Sky Q | Technics 1210GR | Naim ND5 XS2

Typically, most people, especially beginners in the sound system, want to know why it’s essential to get a phono stage. I had a Fono MK5 "on loan" for a couple of weeks recently and was quite impressed with the sound. It only has around 41db of gain so was a bit low for the 3mv Nagaoka MP300. Had to wang the volume around to around 2pm vs the usual 9 -10am using 48db in the Delphini. It also looked a bit lost on the Fraim shelf on its own. I'm running KEFs which are pretty wayward when it comes to bass (bungs provided as standard), with the Fono the bass has no presence.I have had the Shiit mani for just over a year now…with goldring 1042 and nagaoka mp200. I‚Äôm looking to make an upgrade for under 1k. The moon has caught my attention, as has the ifi phono 2, both of which you‚Äôve reviewed. The Rega aria is still within my budget. Which shoukd I go for please….? RIAA equalisation in the Fono MM Disk Stage has been split into two stages, the signal path uses polyester capacitors and the RIAA circuits use polypropylene capacitors, thus minimising any interaction. Detail resolution is good too. This isn’t the most pristine of productions but the Fono MM can uncover a good amount of detail and organise it into a cohesive and musical whole. Springsteen’s distinctive, textured vocals come through with all the power and passion they deserve and the result is as musically involving as we have heard from a phono stage at this level. The turntable in this case is AT-LP140XP so I do not want to spend more than 175-200 euros on phono preamp (in terms of logic, there is no point in buying a preamp that costs as much as the turntable itself) But can stretch the limit a bit to 250-275 euro
