A new Cat Kid Comic Club book is coming from Dav Pilkey in November. Cat Kid Comic Club: Perspectives will continue the adventures of 21 rambunctious baby frogs and their friends — but in a series of short comics done in various media. The book will be released worldwide on November 30 th. Chubbs McSpiderbutt, one of George and Harold's toys who made a cameo in Dog Man: Fetch-22, appears in a comic. As a series, Cat Kid Comic Club is brilliant. And, I know, it's a Dog Man spinoff, so of course it's brilliant, but seriously this series is brilliant. And I'm saying that as a librarian, not as a total Dog Man fangirl! So, it is officially my professional opinion that Dav Pilkey is accomplishing some impressive stuff with these books: At the end of Chapter 6: Sister Stories, Summer is writing the Zen Shodo phrase, "Za Ichi So Shichi [3]", which translates to "Sit First, Dash Seven", meaning to start the day with a meditation, prayer or mindfulness before dashing around.

The teased sequel to Chubbs McSpiderbutt is called "Chubbs McSpiderbutt 2: The Birth of Big Bubba Babyhead", a reference to Ambassador Babyhead, an action figure George and Harold played with in the first intro of Dog Man: Fetch-22. The other frogs and Flippy say that they really like the book, but Flippy says the potty humor wasn't necessary. When a frog asks why, Flippy says that there is nothing funny about poo-poo, causing all the frogs to laugh. Flippy asks if anyone made a comic that wasn't violent or disgusting, and K.T. responds, saying their comic is free of offensiveness. After being bullied by bigger fish, Flippy went home crying. When he got home, Flippy's mom encouraged him. But as he got older, he got trapped in a pot with a squid, and was almost eaten. But they both escaped... At the courthouse, the Spinosaurus told the Triceratops that the Iguanodon ate his baby. The judge says that he looks guilty so he is sent to jail, but Dennis cuts them off by telling them that Iguanodons are vegetarians. Being a perfectionist has the tendency to slow me down, or puts me off writing completely for months on end. It interrupts the creative flow. So, I applaud Pilkey for teaching kids early on not to worry so much about failing. I believe this message will give kids the confidence they need in their creativity, in a time when imagination is scarce and--in some cases--discouraged.Frankie, C.C., and Boo used to work as Law Enforcers. But they changed their minds and became space heroes. They detect a bully on a planet, and try to stop the bully. But the bully ejects an evil robot out of his body. The baby frogs turn the robot into a good robot, and they prompt him to hug the bully. The bully runs away, and the victim is saved. Chubbs and Jake's van includes an actual working studio inside, with stereo speakers, a mini subwoofer, 1970s faux-wood paneling, multicolored disco lights, and a mirrored floor.

Most of the individual mini-comics the baby frogs create as part of this club are themselves serialized narratives, which both gives kids an incentive to reread the previous books and encourages them to remember several disparate plotlines! The titular club is all about Cat Kid teaching the baby frogs how to make their own comic books, with the main point being that everyone can make a comic; this empowers kids to make their own comics and stories, too! The names of the Baby Frog Squad are based from breakfast cereals. Frankie is named after Franken Berry, C.C. is named after Count Chocula, and Boo is named after Boo Berry. Brutus, the pink robot, is also named after another breakfast cereal, Fruit Brute. The second day of the second week of the comic club starts off with everyone goofing around and Naomi and Melvin fighting. Curly and Gilbert shares their new comic to everyone, and The H.A.C.K.E.R. Brothers present their long-awaited comic, Chubbs McSpiderbutt.frogs are still at a session. Flippy asks why they are still here and they say that they need inspiration for a story and Flippy says that they don't deserve inspiration. Flippy advices them to force themselves to create and the 2 frogs say they're aren't good at writing. Flippy tells them to make an biographical story. The 2 frogs then have an idea to make an autobiographical story about Flippy. Flippy tells them they can't make a story about him. One frog then asks why and the other replies "Because he doesn't drive a car." Flippy then denies this answer. A frog requests Flippy to tell the frog all about his life. Flippy then continues to tell the frogs. Can Naomi and Melvin remain besties? Will Flippy ever stop worrying? And WHO are the special guest stars dashing forth to investigate the comic club? Find out next time in Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose!!! Skelopup comes to life after his old body decays underground. Then, the Cloud of Death takes him to Deadville. Skelopup meets Ghost Girl, and they have fun together. The End... Rico and Drake asks Molly if the Show and Tell party would be happening the next day. But Molly confirms that it won't happen, since the frogs were goofing around a lot. They blame Melvin and Naomi for the cause. This comic is all about Dennis, a toothbrush who wants to become as a Dinosaur Lawyer, then it follows with "So... yeah." and ends the story.
