About this deal

Apply this product, Textrol wet to wet not dry on dry. Which basically is telling you do not allow the wood to let the oil dry between coats. When first applied, Textrol will give the wood a rich, matt colour which will gradually lighten over time to the finished look. It is now available in 8 different colours for a range of looks all with premium protection. Why should I use Textrol? When Textrol is first applied it will leave the wood looking nice and rich. Over time this will fade into a lighter colour to give the finished look. Using this oil-based wood finish gives you the best of both worlds. It provides brilliant protection from the elements while enhancing the beauty of the wood.

Actual coverage will vary depending on application method, type, texture, age and porosity of the wood. It was not easy to put on as it is runny but we had prepared with tarpaulins etc. We found that we only needed a small amount on the roller which we then brushed out whilst the surfaces were still wet. The coverage was fantastic and we are very pleased with the result. The uneven colour is due to the different woods being used. I would like to add photos but there does not seem to be that option. NB – If you apply the product with a sprayer, it is a good idea to go over it lightly with a brush or roller afterwards for better penetration. ApplicationSurfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, grime, mildew and previous coatings. Treat mildew with a 50/50 bleach/water solution. Scrub solution on to surface and allow to stand for 10-15 minutes; rinse thoroughly. After cleaning and/or stripping, allow wood to dry 2-3 good drying days or until it has reached a moisture content of 18 % or less before applying finish. The driver must have assistance to offload unless alternative arrangements made with our transport team Apply a single liberal application of Textrol HES working in the direction of the grain. After 15-30 minutes brush out any excess to improve penetration and give a uniform finish. However, if the doors have a previous finish on them, it will need to be removed before application of Net-Trol and a finishing product. Recommended application: for best results surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, grime and mildew. Approximate Coverage

Once your surface is prepared, the application process is much the same as Textrol. Begin applying the D1 with a brush or roller (please note a sprayer is only suitable for maintenance coats and not for initial application in this case) and be sure to work in sections which you can complete in around 15 minutes (for fences this is relatively easy as you can just work in individual panels or 2 or 3 panel sections depending on your application speed – always work in whole panels though). As with Textrol, continue to apply wet-on-wet applications of Deks Olje D1 until the wood is saturated and ensure that it does not dry out inbetween coats. Long-lasting natural-looking penetrating oil for all exterior woods. Developed to penetrate deep into the wood, Owatrol Textrol provides long-lasting protection against moisture damage, offers superior UV resistance, at the same time enhancing the woods natural beauty. After cleaning and/or stripping, allow the wood to dry for 2-3 good drying days or until it has reached a moisture content of 18% or less before applying the finish. Our customer base reads as a fortune 500 who's who of manufacturing companies world wide. They make Textrol Laboratories Inc. the ideal source for specialized strand control systems for their product's applications.Textrol HES is a one-coat, penetrating oil finish for softwoods and European hardwoods. It has been developed to penetrate deep in to the wood with a high solids content which protects the timber against damage caused by the weather and UV rays. Clean the surface with Net-Trol and allow it to dry. Re-apply Textrol HES as directed under ‘Application’. Cleaning with Net-Trol once a year between treatments to remove dirt and other surface contamination will renew the appearance of the finish and wood. Clean Up Note: Any rags etc. soaked in Textrol HES may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Rags etc. must be saturated with water after use or placed in a sealed, water filled metal container, before disposing with household waste. Things to Remember After cleaning and/or stripping, allow the wood to dry for 2-3 good drying days or until it has reached a moisture content of 18% or less before applying the finish. NB– If you apply the product with a sprayer, it is a good idea to go over it lightly with a brush or roller afterwards for better penetration. Application

NOTE: Any rags, steel wool etc. soaked in Textrol may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. These must be saturated with water after use or placed in a sealed, water filled metal container, before disposing with household waste. Things to Remember Note:Do not create a film. Textrol HES is not a surface coating, its place is in the wood not on the surface. No need to apply to reverse of the board. For directions on surface preparation please refer to the technical sheet. Maintenance When first applied, Textrol will give the wood a rich, matt colour which will gradually lighten over time to the finished look. It is now available in 4 different colours for a range of looks all with premium protection. Why should I use Textrol? Deks Olje D1 is different from Textrol in that it can be used on new wood (with some surface preparation) if you are looking for an immediate protection. D1 is a saturating wood oil which gives a clear matt finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood and is easy to maintain as just like Textrol it requires no sanding or stripping! It provides outstanding protection against damage by moisture and UV rays and can even be used on interior wood as well as exterior wood. D1 is available in 1 L, 2.5 L and 20 L containers and as a guide you will need approximately 1 L for every 1-4m² you need to cover.Unlike other species, Yellow Balau has no specific ‘grading rule book’ and generally is sourced on the trust basis that certain mills produce a superior production selecting out lower grade boards for other uses. We use our considerable experience to source from the best shippers and to the specification that we believe is the best in the UK.

Wood that has weathered longer than 12 months or turned grey should be cleaned with Owatrol Net-Trol to remove all loose wood fibres, dirt and other surface contamination before applying Owatrol Textrol. Maintenance applications may be required approximately once every 2 years depending on wood species, age of wood at time of initial application e.g. new or weathered and colour used. To apply Textrol to weathered wood first ensure the wood is fully dry (preferably allow 2-3 completely dry days after cleaning) although we know this can be difficult to guarantee with the British weather! You can use a brush, roller or garden sprayer to apply the Textrol and you should apply an initial coat and allow 15-30 minutes for it to be absorbed into the wood. The important thing to remember about Textrol is that it should be applied wet-on-wet which means that you should not allow the surface of the wood to dry between coats. This is because Textrol’s place is in the wood and not on top – if you allow it to dry then the Textrol which has been absorbed will prevent the new coat form penetrating the wood! Cedar – Allow cedar wood to weather for a minimum of 12 months before treatment. Call our technical team for advice on application.Textrol may only be applied to bare wood surfaces or a weathered wood surface that was previously finished with Textrol. All previous coating must be completely and thoroughly removed with a stripper and neutralized with Net-Trol before applying Textrol. If necessary sand the surface after cleaning and stripping (80 grit paper). After cleaning, allow the wood to dry for 2-3 days before finishing. Application of Textrol penetrating wood oil NOTE: Owatrol Textrol is not a surface coating, its place is in the wood not on the surface. Owatrol Textrol protects by penetrating the wood, providing a rich matt finish. A small trellis added to the top of an existing fence and provide a deterrent for trespassers and burglars as they will not hold the weight of a person and so would collapse – causing noise and damage Textrol enhances the natural beauty of the wood whilst providing a mildew-resistant finish with exceptional and long-lasting protection from the effects of moisture, weathering and UV rays. It can be applied wet-on-wet which saves time as you don’t need to wait for coats to dry during application and the maintenance is easy with local touch-ups and no laborious sanding required!
