Dog Man arrives at the police station and the Mean Officers start bullying him because of his cone. Dog Man presses the button on the top, which causes him to change into his Mecha-Suit. The mean officers run away in fright after this encounter, and they hide behind the plant Dog Man usually hides behind. Dog Man turns off the Mecha-Suit and discovers that Chief is writing a love letter to Nurse Lady. Dog Man doesn't like the letter, and expresses this by blowing a raspberry. Chief crumples it up and throws it away and admits that he'll always be alone. Dog Man then comforts Chief after realizing what he's done. In December 2021, a reprint of the first Dog Man book was released with a cover when you move the book, it changes Dog Man to The Bark Knight. However, The Bark Knight wasn't released until Dog Man and Cat Kid. Dr. Scum informs the Mayor about the incident. Mayor becomes furious and drives to the police station, asking Dog Man to stop Petey. He runs around, sniffing him out. Dog Man attempts to bite him, but Petey just sprints away. Petey then teases Dog Man about the fact that he will never find him because he's never washing off the spray. Dog Man then gets a good idea. He jumps in a nearby baby pool and shakes his body to fling the water everywhere. The droplets lands on Petey and wash off the spray, allowing Dog Man to see and arrest him.

Petey, holding a dog whistle and a megaphone, rounds up all the dogs in town including Dog Man himself. Feeva that it was time for them to spend some of the "moolah". However, before they could do so, the mysterious stranger appears and shouts to Flat Petey, "Not so fast!". Molly and Li'l Petey talk about Rudolph, Santa, and Batman. Petey is annoyed. At the sight of Petey and Son, Petey is distraught. Molly asks to take the meerkat suit home. Petey sarcastically says yes. Molly believes he isn’t being sarcastic and flies away, Li'l Petey finds Petey's mother's Ukulele, and Petey plays a few notes, because he thought he lost it. Li'l Petey takes Petey to live with him and Dog Man while Petey and Son is rebuilt. Li'l Petey says they still have love and that it lasts forever. Following up with Petey hugging his son and saying: "Forever and ever." The book comes to an end.

Chief is very surprised that Dog Man is wearing a cone. He takes Dog Man home, and Nurse Lady says she notices (and likes) Chief's slippers. Chief is happy (although, his expression looks like he has a crush on Nurse Lady). Chief leaves, and Dog Man describes how the day went to Li'l Petey and 80-HD. Both try to assure him that everything is gonna be okay and leave the "Supa Pillow Fort." They then go up to the grand ballroom. He plans to possess Chief's body (before his soul melts in 2 minutes if he doesn't possess someone soon) and chases after the Chief. However, he let one thing slip out of his mouth: he is a ball of pure energy. Because Dog Man loves playing with balls, he runs after Flippy's soul and catches it in his mouth before it barely touched Chief. Flippy's soul yells at Dog Man to let him go, but Dog Man doesn't listen and continues swinging it in his mouth. Soon, Flippy's soul begins to melt until it was no more, killing both Flippy's body and soul. Chief thanks Dog Man for his bravery and for saving him.
