About this deal

Choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, 40 of the world’s most outstanding young dancers and musicians take to the stage delivering electrifying performances that bring audiences to their feet night after night.

You can’t help but have a big smile on your face when the full ensemble cast fill the width of the stage at St David’s Hall and with their legs kicking and tapping in perfect sync.Such a Shame that the talent and stammer required to be a professional Irish Dancer was totally Lost in this Miss Mash of a nonsensical Show.

If you’re a fan of this type of dancing and the Irish music and culture this show is without a doubt the show for you to attend next.As the first half of the show begins the audience are greeted with a projected Michael Flatley and a giant clock alluding to the opening of the show.

This Irish-American step-dancing star, now 57, has announced that he will retire from performing at the end of this eight-week run.

With all the visceral precision and thrills of the original, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games features new staging, new costumes and mesmerising new choreography. Flatley’s productions have sold out in theatres around the world for years, and he insists this is due to such positive word of mouth. I have been looking forward to watching this show for a long time and being a tap dancer myself can appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into this form of dancing. The plot follows a little Spirit with a magic flute who battles against evil to save Ireland from being taken over by evil cyborgs. It’s the kind of show that you watch with your mouth open, and then later think back on it and wonder if you really just saw what you think you saw. The cast at the Playhouse Theatre will be led by James Keegan and Morgan Comer, who have both won every major title in competitive Irish Dance. The perfectly balanced ensemble of male and female dancers help to give depth to the story and in the dance sequences when they are all in a line and coordinated it really is something to admire. They all managed to hold attention of the audience due to their frequent costume changes and the cleaver projections that portrayed Ireland as an Idyllic place filled with Unicorns and rainbows. Recorded at the London Palladium theatre in 2014, the show features a new musical score composed by Gerard Fahy and some of the world's most talented dancers including James Keegan, Mathew Smith and Alice Upcott. The main lead Lord of the Dance was played by James Keegan and the Dark Lord was played by Zoltan Papp.
