About this deal

Whether he’s scything through units or duelling Characters, Ventris is sure to reap a fearsome tally – especially with his Warlord Trait, Paragon of War, which causes a mortal wound on an unmodified wound roll of 6.* In the aftermath of that campaign, following the departure of Guilliman for Terra during the Terran Crusade, Ultramar came under a renewed assault by the servants of the Plague God Nurgle that was led by the Daemon Primarch Mortarion and his Death Guard Traitor Legion, a conflict known as the Plague Wars. In Penitent , the mysterious Beta Bequin joins the Inquisition in hunting for the King in Yellow, the ruler of Queen Mab and architect of her life, among much else. With Eisenhorn and Ravenor both seeking her service, she’s forced to choose a side – and the choice she makes will have life-changing consequences. The whole Chapter rose in defence of the realm, aided by an Adeptus Mechanicus contingent under Magos Locard, the warband of the system-based Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Suzaku, a squad of Raven Guard Space Marines, the mobilised Ultramaran Planetary Defense Force regiments, and many civilians. The war expanded to encompass several Ultramar worlds, at least one of which was destroyed.

Whether you’re telling your own tales of this iconic Ultramarines Captain in Crusade games or using him to gain an edge over your enemies in matched play, Uriel Ventris makes an ideal addition to your Ultramarines. As an added bonus, it’s a gorgeous model to paint, too. Ventris assisted Captain Bannon and his team in capturing a Lictor; this proved pivotal during the war, as Kryptman's Magos Biologis aide, Vianco Locard, was able to concoct venom from the Lictor's genetic structure that would send an early generation Tyranid into hyper-evolution, killing the creature. Unfortunately, the only way to utilize this venom effectively was to board the last remaining Hive Ship in orbit and infect the Tyranids' Norn-Queen. [4x]

In the wake of Ultramar’s invasion by the forces of Chaos, Uriel volunteered to cross the Rubicon Primaris, and now he fights for the Imperium with greater strength than ever before. You can add Captain Uriel Ventris to any army with the Ultramarines faction keyword for 110 points or 6 Power. For this cost, he brings everything you’d expect from a Primaris Captain to the table and a fair bit more. However, the former Daemon Engine brought them through the Warp to a troubled world called Salinas, and more specifically to a forbidden zone on that world's surface that reeked of death. Ventris and Pasanius were then confronted by the veteran Astra Militarum regiment that ruled the planet as a gift of conquest, led by Leto Barbaden, the suspicious and ruthless Planetary Governor and the regiment's ex-commander. The bionic replacement's only difference with Ventris' organic eye was that it was metallic blue, rather than storm cloud grey. The bionic eye offered Ventris access to a wide variety of new visual spectra, heightened spatial awareness, a more efficient targetting mechanism for his weapons that could interface with his power armour's auto-senses, and visual image capture and storage capabilities. For the first time, add the legendary hero of Graham McNeill's Ultramarines novels to your collection. The model depicts Uriel Ventris in his new guise as a Primaris Space Marine – as seen on the cover of the novel The Swords of Calth – and includes a host of details that fans of the books will recognise, such as white rose of Pavonis. In your games, Uriel Ventris can be used as a Primaris Captain in Ultramarines armies, and his rules are included in the box, with his unique power sword.

If the Tactical Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Assault Doctrine is now active. Ventris and the Unfleshed infiltrated the heart of the fortress, and whilst the Unfleshed fought against the guards, Ventris and Pasanius freed the Heart of Blood. Once freed, the psychic barriers protecting the fortress fell, allowing the Omphalos Daemonium to appear and fight against its bitter rival. [7] If you’ve read any of the novels, you’ll know that Ventris is famed for his unconventional solutions to battlefield problems, which is reflected in his Unorthodox Strategist ability. In usual fashion, there’s tons of great detail on the model to make it a great painting challenge when the time comes. Rules for extra characters are pretty hit or miss, hopefully, he is a serious option to consider when playing instead of just a model you can “technically” play. What do you think about these rules? Do you think he is better than a standard captain? Are the trade-offs worth it? Invictus has a 30” range, so Ventris will fit well in a gun line with Primaris Intercessors , directing their fire with the Rites of Battle ability. Ventris crossed the Rubicon Primaris to become a Primaris Marine and led the 4th Company against Necrons on Sycorax during the Indomitus Crusade. Since his boltgun is Rapid Fire, it becomes even more effective if Ventris stays still thanks to Bolter Discipline. He may only have Rapid Fire 1, but the 30″ range makes up for it. -2 AP 2 Damage is also very nice, although S4 means you might only really shoot at Marines with it. High Toughness will prove to be a challenge with such low shots and strength. He also gets access to Bolter Discipline which helps out here if he is stationary, giving you 2 shots at the full 30″ range.

Despite Ventris's sincere belief that his actions had been correct, Learchus reported his and Pasanius's breaches of the Codex to Chapter command. Ventris and Pasanius were both arrested and placed on trial. Based on some discreet advice from Lord Calgar (passed along by First Captain Agemman), Ventris and Pasanius waived their rights to defend themselves, so as to prevent their example from being followed by others and causing anarchy in the Ultramarines. [6] Ventris has the same characteristics as the rest of his Belisarian brethren, making him a fearsome combatant.

Crusade is a cool way to play, and is definitely a more casual, fluffy approach, so more rules for it are nice if they don’t take away from the core experience. After Guilliman had left Macragge behind, a visibly aged and scarred Ventris finally caught up with the primarch in the aftermath of the Battle of Raukos, the final battle of the Indomitus Crusade, aboard his flagship, the Macragge's Honour. Ventris informed Guilliman of his brother Mortarion's assault upon Ultramar, and that the realm was likely soon to fall to the warriors of the Plague Lord if no outside help was forthcoming.Of all the lawless places in the 41st Millennium, the immense city of Varangantua must surely be among the most dangerous. All the tales in the Warhammer Crime range are set in its streets, and they’re joined now by a new anthology of seven loosely connected short stories set in the wake of a terrible disaster.
