About this deal

I, still, had to have a good grip on the peanut butter jar, but not as tight as when I used the regular beater. Clean-up is a snap. I won't put the dough hooks in the dishwasher, though I understand they could go in there if I wanted. The mixer is compact and doesn't take up a lot of cabinet space. I never pushed the mixing speed above 5 with the bread dough so there was a ton of power in reserve. Bread dough, to me, is the best measure of how a mixer will perform. One-Handed vario control a simple turn of the vario control speed dial is all it takes to adjust the speed while you mix, and the touch of a button lets you switch between accessories. I use the mixer and regular beaters to mix dip, whipped cream, frosting, batters, and other things with no problem.

Half the mixing effort smartmix technology delivers an in-line vertical motor design that shifts the Weight of the mixer out of your hand and into the bowl. Mixing effort (mixing cake batter, external tests) compared to leading competitors. more power 350 watts of power beats the ingredients and the competition. Wattage and mixing effort (mixing cake batter, external tests) compared to leading competitors. Whatever remains after using the spatula after the last jar, use two fingers to get the rest off and eat it. Attachments for every task multi-whisk, both whisk and beater in one, creates volume for light, airy mixtures. The sturdy dough hooks are perfect for homemade bread and pizza. The KitchenAid Cordless Mixer and the Braun MultiMix 5 also have the same number of speeds, with both having a great range. The Braun certainly feels more powerful, but the results are mostly the same. In terms of ease of use, the Braun was slightly easier to hold onto, thanks to the ergonomic grip.Using a (one) dough hook, and getting a good grip on the jar, this is great for mixing natural peanut butter, including crunchy. With 9 speeds to choose from, a simple turn of the VarioControl speed dial with your thumb is all it takes to seamlessly fine-tune the speed for precise mixing results. No need to stop and change attachments to go from whisking to beating, the unique MultiWhisk attachment is both whisk and beater in one. Its dual-action design creates volume for light, airy mixtures

I don't use mixers for many tasks - pretty much bread dough and whipping cream. I'll be whipping cream later in the week to make Christmas pies. I think this is going to do just fine with whipping cream. Another standout feature of the Braun MultiMix 5 is that an effort has been made to keep clean-up to an absolute minimum. The mixer has a completely sealed body, making it so that none of your mixture can seep inside the housing, and effectively wreak havoc inside. Instead, you'll have no trouble with wiping down the exterior of your mixer, and popping the attachments into your dishwasher (or washing them in soapy water if you prefer). How it compares

Customer reviews

The Braun 5100 offers a compact and more powerful alternative to the stand mixer (350-watt motor vs 325-watt on the stand mixer). From what I've read, the KA Artisan should be used for"occasional' breadmaking, suggesting it would not stand up long to twice-weekly outings. The single dough hook doesn't knead as effectively as two dough hooks. And who wants to be responsible for burning out his wife's 20-year old mixer?
