The design is closely related to that of the Moto Edge 30 Fusion with the design and build much the same, but it boosts the waterproofing over the older phone which was only IP52. The Edge 40's overall power consumption is rather inconspicuous and quite energy-efficient under load. The color fidelity remains comparatively high in 1 lux residual light and the test chart is still completely visible, but no longer particularly sharp. It won’t slip off slightly uneven surfaces either, an additional bonus compared to its premium glass brethren.
