About this deal

In tip-top physical condition and sparkling mental health, his hobby is studying the world around him.

If I think too much about the cringe-worthy parts I might be tempted to just give it a 2, so this is it. Some insane (and I mean insane as in I seriously think the author has some kind of mental illness) things happen in the manga, and those things are pretty funny if you just take them out of context. Does Not Like Men: In Episode 5, Reiko claims to have no sexual attraction to men and think they're disgusting overall, having only eyes for her own motorbike. Golden Boy is a manga series by Tatsuya Egawa, which was serialized in Super Jump from 1992 to 1997. Golden Boy depicts him living the life of a free spirit, roaming Japan from town to town, job to job. This is an interesting look in the psychi of a free spirit as he explores a wide variety of topics from the worshiping of false idols, the meaning of life as he knows it, and the after effects of the people who's eyes he's opened to the wonderful mystery that is the world. In the second episode, he becomes enamored with Naoko, a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing teenage daughter of a local politician who has a habit of acting sweet and intimate around men but just enjoys playing with them.

Usually, Kintaro finds the women leading him to a job, he then performs that job horribly, but as the days go by he progresses and learns a lot and usually saves the business he is working for, while leaving the women he was after in love with him, only to leave town before he gets the praise he deserves. The Cameo: Taruruto, from Tatsuya Egawa's previous series, Magical Taruruto-kun makes a small cameo towards the end of the first episode as "the wizard", serving as the office assistant-esque UI in Kintaro's newly built computer software. Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: A bit downplayed, but the dynamic between Kintaro and Naoko plays out like this in the second episode. I will say, however, that the ending is pretty atrocious, as the series just abruptly ends without concluding anything in the middle of a story arc. The viewer knows that certain jokes are coming and it somehow makes it funnier when they finally happen.Kintaro is also often seen demonstrating the skills he has learned in previous chapters to overcome challenges faced in the current one. What we have here is the tale of a guy that wonders town to town doing odd jobs and getting into a series of perverted scenarios and while at the first volume is more a woman of the week affair similar to the 6 episode OVA at points just outright feeling like panels of the show it quickly devolves from that as it then turns into an overarching tale of large proportions. Gratuitous English: Madame President speaking to the company's American client in the original Japanese release. Art Evolution: Golden Boy II is this in all aspects, considering it began serialization more than a decade after the original Golden Boy's ending, Egawa really evolved his art style. He is also adept in martial arts, but does not fight unless he is angered, and ordinarily just takes a beating.

Hilariously averted in the last episode when Kintaro is interrupted by his male boss rather than the original woman; let's just say the use of a butcher knife is involved. Se avete visto la serie TV Golden Boy allora non potrà che potranno che piacervi i manga da cui è stato tratto. Dominatrix: How Kintaro's imagination normally portrays his more mature love interests, particularly Madame President and Ayuko. Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Kintaro may act like a hopeless pervert, but is skilled in many fields, including martial arts. I personally did not love the anime, so I started reading the manga with no prior information hoping that it would get better.

Golden Boy is an anime with really no plot what so ever, but for some reason, it just made me love it even more. The whole time it just focuses on Kintaro going from temporary job to temporary job always finding these beautiful women, with different stories to each episode.

Wholesome Crossdresser: Kintaro spends most of volumes 4 and 5 of the manga pretending to be a 17-year-old highschool girl.

Parts of the manga were adapted into a six-episode original video animation (OVA) series produced by Shueisha and KSS in 1995. As the name implies it's a sequel of the original series, but it remains fairly unknown, in contrast to the original boom.
