This is an enjoyable read and the art is great. The story takes place in a kind of part futuristic part quasi-stone-age (?) world. A group of teens from a more "modern" community that has dedicated itself to saving a bunch of computerized archives--digitalized historical and cultural artifacts of the pre-apocalypse world--are out foraging and they chance upon an underground bunker with a bunch of robots and computers. They accidentally power the stuff up which attracts the bad guys, space monsters who float around and capure things in bubbles and like to eat machines. (Well, maybe not just machines, but definitely machines.) For example some players can reach Diamond 5 by spamming Riven for a year, then when it comes down to it, they’re only a diamond player if they are playing top lane and Riven, so when they inevitably play another champion they will probably look like they’re inting. OTP is also used by fans of celebrity couples to refer to their favorites (e.g., Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn). Yeehaw! But the moment you see their home base in the sky you truly appreciate Hale’s attention to detail. Clearly he is at peace with his inner H.R. Giger. There’s such a fine attention to the biological components of these alien species that eat without cease. Their entire base is almost nothing more than a massive digestive system. It’s a nightmare that somehow manages to reign in the horror just enough to remain palatable to children. And palatable it shall be! A pony that may be the saving of them all. This phrase usually has a slightly negative connotation, suggesting that a broader set of skills or talents is more desirable. But we all know that’s not always the case. Is it? Should It Be Hyphenated? Meanwhile an OTP in this case is almost useless if they’re not playing their one specific champion. How can you quibble in the face of adorable robots, a robot pony, tough wild men who just want to pet alpacas, and freaky aliens? Oh and all the cool bubble-bite landscapes! Take for example, Lee Sin. This guy has been nerfed since he was released pretty much, yet he is still played in the professional scene. This speaks volumes about Lee Sin’s unique design and strength.
