It was in 2017 when Audio Pro launched its multi-room speakers in C series, and it has been in the limelight since then. Pairing a Bluetooth speaker and Bluetooth device is easy: you simply put the speaker in 'pairing mode' (usually by pressing a button), go into a device's Bluetooth settings and 'scan' for available speakers and then select your speaker. The Audio Pro range doesn’t include the designated home cinema components as some of its multi-room rivals, and the app is a little lacking – and that might limit the overall appeal for some people. I don’t own an Echo or Google Home based multiroom audio system, so don’t know exactly how they are controlled, but I suspect lack of connectivity might render them useless too. It's predominantly a stationary, use-at-home type of product, but the Era 100's Bluetooth connectivity gives it more flexibility in use and makes it eligible for a spot on this list.

It stands under 12cm high and weighs just over 2kg, while the built-in lithium-ion battery will comfortably last for up to 15 hours at half volume or nine hours playing at full-tilt. Note: If you are using the C5 or the C10 as a master please change the switch on the back of the speaker to Wifi Play. As the Addon C10 is to the Addon C3, similarly the Drumfire’s better-honed talents run further than the added power and bottom end over its family members – it is again a step up in terms of performance across the board.The multi-room versions, those with wi-fi, are the ‘C’ rather than Bluetooth-only ‘T’ model number, and they now number four products. We set two C10 MkIIs up with Audio Pro’s app (we name one 'White' and one 'Grey' for easy identification) and it’s surprisingly easy to get audio to play through one, both, or as a stereo pair. Where many competitors must settle for almost a sheet of sound, Audio Pro is able to place instruments front to back with a sense of organisation akin to more conventional speakers. The Drumfire is a 65cm-tall floorstanding colossus reminiscent of a guitar stack that proves Audio Pro’s ability to retain its Award-winning sonic signature even when the speaker tips the scales. With the T3, you get almost nine hours of playback at 100% volume and up to 15 hours at 50% volume, compared to 12 and 30 hours with the T3. e., to say it can only be used as multiroom speakers with its other C series speakers, namely C3, C5, and C5A.

However, Audio Pro C5A provides a little edge to its audio quality with the way they are designed with the addition of twin tweezers that even fill a large room which its amplifying voice.It’s not the end of the world (those preset buttons come in handy here), but it leaves the whole experience feeling a bit disjointed. Although there’s no voice assistant directly built-into the C3, Audio Pro has chosen to allow Alexa control through the Alexa app.

Both the A28 and A38 have a subwoofer output – and Audio Pro is quick to state that it offers several sub options to suit different rooms and requirements.This will limit its appeal to those who aren’t Apple fans or fully ensconced in the iOS ecosystem, and who might prefer more platform-agnostic options like Sonos, or another alternative from this list. It's no longer a good value with its limitations, outdated and difficult app navigation, lack of app updates, and blind ear (pun intended) to user feedback. There’s plenty of bass for a unit this size, and a level of detail we’ve become used to from these speakers, but the highlight is undoubtedly these boxes’ level of expression.
