About this deal

hope. that’s all i have to go on right now. it’s my driving force. it’s literally what keeps me standing.” You know the moment you’ll close a series it’s gonna hurt when first, you regret not giving a five star to the previous book while reading glimpses of the protagonists’ relationship since their very start and actually thinking how it’s gonna be hard to say goodbye to the characters when you are only going through the second of ten books or so long series. Elise Laird made for quite a heroine. She was a woman willing to play with fire whether she got burned or not. She was determined, passionate and had an inner beauty that didn’t go unnoticed. I didn't even touch the surface of everything and everyone that is wrong with this book. And I won't, because it is bound to put me in a rage that'll SEND ME TO A PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL. I don't remember the last time I have actually despised a book with such fervour. This is personal. I hope every single copy BURNS in the everlasting depth of hell. I admired the inclusion of therapy, in helping her identify where the addiction could’ve stemmed from, and how she can work through that without placing guilt and shame upon herself. It felt like such an important step to getting her on that path that’ll eventually solidify her recovery as well as lo’s. More importantly, so they can be truly happy after much hurt and pain inflicted and enabled among each other 🫶🏼

From the bestselling author of Hello, Darkness and Smash Cut comes another steamy thriller of murder, love, and betrayal featuring a Savannah homicide detective fighting attraction in the heat of the South. What I like most about Sandra's thrillers are the reasons why her characters carry out the crimes. It is always at stake social reputation, money, scams and cover-ups with very important people involved. Those types of thrillers, which can not be categorized as "legal", are the ones I love, so I'll definitely keep looking for titles from this author. This the kind of story that I most love to read -- a story of two people who are so completely and deeply in LOVE with each other fighting as hard as they can to overcome the obstacles in their lives and be together.THIIIIS COUPLE OMGGG!!! I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THEEEM. They came in my life to stay for good, i can't get them out of my mind. The only reason i reduced one star, is because i wanted more lilo content. At this point, i really don't care for the teasers about the other couples, sorry not sorry. GIVE ME EVERYTHING ABOUT LILO I WANT IT ALL.

Ricochet gutted me on an emotional level. At first I was afraid I wouldn't like it because Lo isn't around and I thought the long distance won't be able to compliment the book but I was surprised to find myself pleased with how the whole situation was handled.

Success!

Sandra Brown presenteia-nos com um a leitura agradável e com um leque diversificado de personagens, sendo que a minha personagem preferida foi sem sombra de dúvida a parceira de Duncan, DeeDee. Ela é honesta, sarcástica, mordaz, perspicaz e terra-a-terra e protagonizou vários momentos hilariantes no livro.

One thing that is different if you compare it with other two books, is that story is equally focused on all characters although it is told from Lily's point of view. We find out more about Ryke and Daisy, but also about Connor and Rose. I was worried in the beginning that it would turn into Gossip Girl fanfiction - they are all rich kids with too much free time - but it did not. Steam level is much higher than in Addicted to You - snippets to Lily's past were cold-shower-worthy. And there are barely any explicit scenes - Krista and Becca Ritchie know how to write perfect build-up of tension and emotions. Side note- I LOVED (I know, again) getting to know more about Connor & Rose and Ryke and Daisy. They are so entertaining and also a nice little break from the heaviness that surrounds Lily & Lo's addictions and recovery. Especially the banter between Rose & Connor (I am SO looking forward to their book) and Ryke's blunt demeanor.

NYT & USA Today Bestselling Authors Krista & Becca Ritchie are identical twins—one a science nerd, the other a comic book geek—but with their shared passion for writing, they combined their mental powers as kids and have never stopped telling stories. They love superheroes, flawed characters, and soul mate love. Lily has let a lot more people into her life. I’m glad that almost everyone in her life is really there for her and is helping her in this journey. I especially enjoyed Rose’s involvement. She is a really good sister. It’s important to have these characters to highlight what kind of people one needs in their own life during a difficult time. I’m also glad that we delved deeper into the root of Lily and Lo’s addictions.

Overall, not a book I would recommend. I was too frustrated with the heroine, and especially the finale. For such a plodding plot, it all felt rushed and jumbled at the end. Not Brown’s best.I loved learning more about Ryke. HOWEVER, I did NOT love the relationship between Daisy and Ryke. I feel very uncomfortable with the way they interact. I felt like Lily was voicing my thoughts whenever she was around them. I’m interested and kinda scared to see how that whole relationship is going to play out though. Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows. The minute after I finished Addicted to You I started listening to Ricochet. Safe to say I am becoming addicted to this series! this was billed as a romantic suspense, but it’s really more of a mystery thriller. I primarily read romance. When I’m in the mood for a detective thriller, I’ll read Michael Connelly 💁‍♀️
