There was enough decent music about in every one of these years, without the need for a double dose of Blondie, FrankieGTH or Duran Duran, no matter how popular these bands were at the time (1984 especially was arguably the best year for music imo, it was jammed packed with all the pop hits). They all sound absolute great, they've really put some effort in to the mastering of these to make sure they pop in your ears in all the places - a little quiet maybe on the volume, but not really an issue, and assume that's possibly to do with the amount of tracks they've managed to cram on each slab of the vinyl. We build and maintain all our own systems, but we don’t charge for access, sell user information, or run ads. The compilation really does illustrate the variety of the era, with ska/pop crossover hits, classic rock tracks, new wave post-punk selections, dancefloor numbers and even rap, with The Sugerhill Gang’s ‘Rapper’s Delight’.

It's hardly one to put on at a party, which seems a shame when I'd have thought that these albums are geared for exactly that really. I appreciate that there are certain limitations with putting together a compilation album such as international artist participation, etc. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at ourwarehouse. For example, 1981 LP1 Side A - who wants to listen to Blondie, then Olivia NJ and then a slow one from Lionel / Diana.Since June 2021 we have presented five editions of the 'NOW - Yearbook' series that span the first half of the 1980s. Putting the sleeves to one side, which to me just seems all a bit lazy (why couldn't they do a nice job of a gatefold at least) - it's the compiling of these albums which I have the issue with. I'm really quite enjoying these latest Now series, and have picked up a copy of all years released so far on vinyl.
