While We wouldn’t suggest dropping this boombox in the lake, you should be safe if it gets wet or is out in the rain. Though a tad bigger than the Xtreme 2, at first glance it doesn't look much different from the previous model, but it does have upgraded sound with slightly better bass and clarity while actually weighing slightly less. Our baseline was being able to play music on two formats, but most are capable of three or four.
