Silver Cross is well known for their traditional (and expensive) carriage prams, but they also have a great range of lighter weight pushchairs at more purse-friendly prices. The Pop is their nippiest and most lightweight model, and takes the shape of an umbrella- fold stroller with a few key added extras.

It’s a pity that you don’t get the flexibility of other models. The Pop can’t parent-face or form a travel system, so we think it’s better for older babies and toddlers, and for occasional newborn use, maybe in tandem with a baby sling or carrier. Silver Cross still make their Classic Heritage coach built collection in Yorkshire by hand using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Weighing in at reasonably lightweight 7kg, the Pop is ideal to take on public transport, and can be easily collapsed and transported by the built-in carry strap. The extremely wide and tall seat makes the Pop ideal for larger toddlers plus it’s ventilated too, so ideal for warmer weather. The seat can recline virtually flat, making it suitable for newborns, but you won’t get the same cosy feel as a carrycot pram, so investing in a footmuff is a must.
