About this deal

A hidden villain that seems a normal character at first but is then revealed to have used sabotage (Prof. Quirrel)

Bella Forrest is a lover of fantasy, romance, action, and mystery infused stories with twists you don’t see coming. She has sold over fifteen million books since her first novel was published in 2012. Could have did with out the Wade chapters. He was dull, boring and slightly obsessive over Harley. I went through those fast. I would have preferred him to have a more mysterious nature of never knowing exactly what he was going through his head. He was my favorite character until now. I found it funny that his Irish accent slipped, his parents work in Texas but his mom has a bit of a southern accent.??? That bit bothered me, Among other things. Everything is more difficult for the team now, because a corrupt magical named Leonidas Levi (who is Raffe Levi’s father) has taken over leadership of the San Diego Coven. He is running the SDC as if it is a military installation. He views Harley with enormous distrust and is doing everything in his power to stand in her way. He forbids her and the Rag Team to do anything else whatsoever to combat Katherine. Holly continues to grow in friendship and loyalty to the members of the Rag Team, including Tatyana Vasilisa, Santana Catemaco, Raffe Levi, Astrid Hepler, Dylan Blight, and Wade Crowley. Garrett Kyteler continues to show up in this novel, and his motivations continue to be suspect. Another important character throughout this series is the young teenager, Jacob, who can open portals between locations on Earth and between Earth and alternate dimensions.

Publication Order of Shade Of Kiev Books

The writer here essentially told us this not a "good school clique" vs. "bad school clique" thing but something more "complicated", a dynamic that she promptly forgets to demonstrate anywhere and went on to ignore completely for the rest of the book.

Given that there are nine books in this series in which Harley is the main character, and given the fact that this book is urban fantasy and not paranormal romance, it is not surprising to me that the author continues to move the romance between Harley and Wade quite slowly until the very end of this book when they, at long last, openly admit to each other they are emotionally and sexually attracted and officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. Can he manage to do what has been ‘asked’ of him by said BAD GUY, while protecting all of his loved ones?Bella Forrest’s original series, A Shade of Vampire, has over thirty books in it now. The series was named after the title of the first book in the series. The protagonist, Sofia Claremont, has just turned seventeen when she gets trapped in a nightmare. While in the dream, she meets a mysterious creature with pale skin. Sofia is then swept away to The Shade, an island that has been bewitched to prevent the sun from ever shining. The Shade is controlled by a coven of vampires that are the most powerful in the world. Sofia becomes a captive on the island and is soon taken to the dwelling of Derek Novak: a vampire prince who craves power and Sofia’s blood. Sofia finds his home a safe haven rather than a prison, and realizes it is by far the safest place on the island. To continue surviving, Sofia must swoon Derek and win his trust. If she succeeds, she will live to see tomorrow. If she fails, she could meet the same kismet as all the other girls who have been involved with the Novaks. Sofia and Derek’s story is followed throughout the first seven books in the A Shade of Vampire Series. In the midst of all Harley’s trials by fire, Wade, who is Harley’s romantic interest throughout this series, continues to stand by her side and support her in every way possible. As I suspected, this probably could have been merged with the last one with some cuts. Both books are centered around the coming nuptials of Kaya, (whose name I forgot halfway through reading--which is very rare for me) a character who wasn't properly introduced until book 14 and first appeared in book 13. Kaya is also a POV character. It's not that great. I don't think it really added much to her character. Kaya doesn't have Katherine's odd charm, that made it fun to be in her head while also making me enjoy her eventual fall. Part of that is probably because Katherine is supposed to be pure evil, while Kaya is supposed to be more sympathetic. But, I didn't feel that much, not even while discussing her father's imminent death or finding out her lover has a cosmic wife. She just seems to be there for a few things Finch can't witness himself. Also, her father, Ovid, is one of the worst characters in the series.

I also wish the author had invested in a good proofreader, but that goes for most self-published books I read. Few authors seem to bother with that essential step, so the grammar and punctuation can be spotty. The Harley Merlin series is not the worst I’ve seen, but it would benefit from a good comb-through. After realizing, to his great frustration, that he can’t do it alone, Finch recruits Garrett to help, and the two of them find themselves unexpectedly teaming up with Saskia. Bella Forrest is an American fantasy author who focuses her writing in the vampire romance and paranormal subgenres. Bella Forrest is a self-published author who released her debut novel on December 14, 2012. Forrest’s passion for writing began at the age of five when she began to produce her own original stories using crayons. As a child, Forrest would spend her time writing rather than watching television. While in school, Forrest loved to study creative writing. Started out well, and I thought it was going to be both well-edited and fairly original. Sadly, in the end it was neither. Enjoyable enough, but not quite worthy of four stars (I did originally err on the side of generosity, but decided on reflection to give it three). The new Director of the San Diego Coven isn’t exactly friendly, and Katherine has already gained untold power. More than ever, Harley needs answers about the rituals Katherine plans to perform to become like Eris, goddess of discord and destruction. This story is characterized by suspense, magic, and unending action. There is also some element of romance in addition to all the magical creatures and new discoveries. Harley will discover that her past is darker than she could have imagined. The plot is solid, the characters are lovable, and you cannot help but wonder what the future holds for the fantastic protagonist. So, apparently I've been reading this for two and a half months....I've read eight other books in that time, so this is probably more about my reading list management than the actual story. That's not to say this hasn't got its flaws. I experienced this book both in Kindle and audiobook format. The narrator is Amanda Ronconi, who does an excellent job acting out the dialogue for all the various characters, portraying with equal skill male and female voices and various national accents.

Still, while the end of this book is somewhat of a surprise, it is also a bit...anti-climactic…mainly because this nearly breathless ride isn’t over yet. but introducing many characters all at once was another Negative point. I forget their names until they came into more focus. And there’s his newfound attraction to Harley’s foster sister which creates all sorts of problems for dear Finch.
