About this deal

Set up your table with a drop cloth or vinyl tablecloth – anything that you can throw away or easily wipe down after. Matthew has been creating drawing and painting tutorials since the relaunch in 2020. Through his involvement with artincontext.org, he has been able to deepen his knowledge of various painting mediums. For example, watercolor techniques, calligraphy and lately digital drawing, which is becoming more and more popular. The smooth sides of the tires are perfect for gluing on colorful artwork. If your youngster has a tire swing, he or she will love this craft. The youngster can get creative and make any scene he or she desires, and when the artwork is sealed with three to four coats of acrylic spray, it will last a long time. 7. Classroom Races Kids love to see these massive vehicles with bright colors all over them – just like one big candy for their eyes!

However, it does require a bit of magic on the computer first; before printing off my illustrations, resize them so that they are one-fourth of their regular size. You can glue or rubber cement the illustrations onto the front of the journal, but I would also recommend Mod Podge, as it provides a seal against moisture. 4. Greeting Cards Set up the kids with my illustrations and acrylic paints or something like the Crayola washable kids paint. For this craft, you will need two of whatever illustration you’re using (I recommend one where the wheels are perfect circles).

Kids love to learn about new vehicles and their drivers even when they are not racing – coloring is a great way to get this information across. When the child has finished coloring Blaze characters, they should be cut out and glued to the paper. Once the images are cut out, they can be used to laminate plates and drinking cups, making sure to seal the finished artwork with acrylic spray. Line up the four wheels over the four wheels of the first illustration and, using a grommet tool eyelet hole punch, punch a hole right in the middle.

Once some Blaze and Monster Machines characters are colored and cut out, rubber cement should be used to glue them to the tire’s sides. Then, paste the sheet onto posterboard and cut it out, carefully following along the outline (smaller kids might need help getting around the wheels). For this craft, you’ll need shrink plastic sheets, markers, a keychain ring and connectors, and access to an oven. These unique vehicles can sometimes fly in the air for dozens of meters – just like superheroes do! Coloring is a great way to keep your child busy for hours when you don’t know what to do with them!
