About this deal

Have you ever heard the reported details of a murder case and thought to yourself, not without a twinge of guilt: ‘Well, they deserved it.’ Perhaps a battered wife who finally snaps and stabs her abuser in his sleep. Or the grief-crazed father of a murdered child who arranges for the convicted killer to be ‘taken care of’ in prison. (Both, incidentally, scenarios that have played out in real life.) I’ll keep this brief and simply say I loved all the characters. Lily is the queen of sociopaths! Bravo!🙌 Overall, this was such a good thriller. I highly recommend it to everyone who loves psychological thrillers. Swanson did a great job in creating fully fleshed out characters. Although not one sympathetic character exists in the book, they are unique and very interesting. It was fun to follow a bunch of psychopaths on a blind collision course. Of course, my favorite is Lily. I admire the insidious way the author leads you to identify with her, making a rather unlikely serial killer not only believable but likable! He weaves just enough negativity into the characters of the victims to make the reader understand the killer's perspective, while still occasionally leaving you wondering if that perspective was indeed accurate. That balance injected just enough hint of an "unreliable narrator" to add to the overall emotional impact. Their neighbors Matthew and Mira Dolamore, also childless like Henrietta and Lloyd in a neighborhood full of breeders, invite them over for an evening of getting to know the new people next door. Whenever I see couples with matching letter names, like Matthew and Mira, I think of a conversation I had with one of the local gossips here in town, who smugly told me that married couples with matching letters, hers were Cs, were much more likely to stay together. She must have felt comfortable confiding this observation to me because my wife and I also have matching letters. The Cs were divorced within a year.

What was the purpose of Richards ex-girlfriend (Karen), and that guy that Joan slept with (George, who attended her wedding as the plus one with one of her husbands collage friends)? Were they teaming up because they both had some connected to the school shooting, or to Joan's husband, or some other connection.... nope. pointless fulfilling my 2019 goal to read (at least) one book each month that has been digitally moldering, unread, on my NOOK for years and years and years.

i thiiiiink this will land at 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 because nothing will quiiiiite beat TKWK for me. however, this was SO much fun, i was thinking about it every time i put it down. Something about the eponymous girl, Liana Decter, has haunted George Foss for twenty years. He met her on his first day of college and soon they were inseparable. But after Christmas break, she's gone and his heart is broken. Even after he learns the nasty truth about her, he unconsciously watches for her everywhere, thinks he sees her in crowds, on the street, on the beach. Not unlike its predecessor, The Kind Worth Saving features unlikely people coming together and plotting the perfect murder. Or four. When no one even knows they've talked to one another, who could possibly link them?

Truthfully, I don’t think murder is necessarily as bad as people make it out to be. Everyone dies. What difference does it make if a few bad apples get pushed along a little sooner than God intended? And your wife, for example, seems like the kind worth killing.” This is the second book in the series and I recommend reading the first book in the series, The Kind Worth Killing, first. EXCERPT: I have no regrets in my life even though I've killed people, I've always had a reason - a good reason - for what I've done.Additionally, Swanson mentions food, such as a tomato and cheese omelet and Mulligatawny stew. I was texting my wife and saying, what do you think about having that Saturday morning and this Sunday evening? I AM SO HAPPY. my fave thriller (THE KIND WORTH KILLING) got a sequel and it answered all my questions from the cliffhanger ending and it was a hell of a ride 👀🖤🫢🔪📖🙌🏼 Hen decides to keep a close eye on Matthew. Due to her prior history, no one believes her. Even her husband is concerned about her belief that their next-door neighbor is a killer. Is she right? Is she wrong? Then Matthew realizes that Hen is watching him one night in a dark parking lot.... this is when you know things are going to get interesting!!!! What will Matthew think about his neighbor following him? We get to know as we learn what both Hen and Matthew are thinking!!!
