About this deal

I used this sunscreen briefly, and I have some thoughts. First Impressions of the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Water Sun Cream SPF 50+ For the record, my skin type is dry dehydrated. So I expect all my sunscreens to leave my skin moisturized with a dewy finish. Bonus points if there is no white cast. With that being said, I’m gonna be judging this sunscreen based on how well it worked for my skin type. Pros It’s a real oldie: expressed directly from the seeds, the oil is used not for hundreds but thousands of years. According to The National Sunflower Association, there is evidencethat both the plant and its oil were used by American Indians in the area of Arizona and New Mexico about 3000 BC. Do the math: it's more than 5000 years – definitely an oldie. Asides from Centella Asiatica and Sodium Hyaluronate, this sun cream doesn’t have the typical ingredients I usually see in Korean sunscreens. It is formulated with a bunch of plant extracts, including fragrance. They include:

Exactly what it sounds: nice smelling stuff put into cosmetic products so that the end product also smells nice. Fragrance in the US and parfum in the EU is a generic term on the ingredient list that is made up of 30 to 50 chemicals on average (but it can have as much as 200 components!). This product is not tested on animals and is free of artificial colors, animal products, parabens and mineral oil. Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Homosalate, Ethylhexyl salicylate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Octocrylene, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, Butylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Glyceryl Stearate, 1,2 Hexanediol, Viscum Album leaf extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris water, Echium Plantagineum seed oil, Glycine Soja Lipids, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/ Vine Extract, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, Behenyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, Aluminum stearate, Polyhydroxystearic acid, Octyldodecanol, Xanthan Gum, Alumina, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol An oil-soluble chemical sunscreen agent that protects the skin from UVB (295-315 nm) with a peak protection at 306 nm. Homosalate isnot a strong UV filter in and of itself (gives only SPF 4.3 protection at max. People with oily-prone skin, meet Cosrx's Vitamin E Vitalizing Sunscreen SPF 50+, which is formulated with silica and cotton extract to keep excess sebum under control, so you don't end up with a greasy T-zone by lunch. For a dose of moisture (because, yes, oily skin needs it), you can count on antioxidant vitamin E and cocoa extract to keep skin feeling soft and nourished.CARDIOSPERMUM HALICACABUMFLOWER/LEAF/VINE EXTRACT, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OILUNSAPONIFIABLES, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, PLUKENETIA VOLUBILIS SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT I am frequently asked to review South Korean sunscreens – Purito Centella and innisfree are a regular query I get. I don’t like reviewing South Korean sunscreens because I haven’t been convinced that they have high SPFs as advertised. Of course, I can now say this because Purito Centella has been at the heart of a testing scandal. It’s SPF 84 sunscreen was found to be SPF 19 in independent lab testing. Ever since it was featured in the Allure Beauty Box, senior commerce writer Angela Trakoshis hasn't been able to get enough of the Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day Mineral Sunscreen, especially since the nongreasy formula is so divine that it keeps her accountable for SPF application. "It's got zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to create a physical barrier that's safe for sensitive skin, and it dries down glowy without leaving a Casper-like cast," she says. "Whether I'm going on my daily walk or sitting by the window with my laptop, I'll never be tempted to skip sunscreen again." Portulaca Oleracea is anice succulent with bright yellow flowers and edible nutritious vegetables. It's a famousplant in Korean traditional medicine to treat infection andirritated skin.

Purslane Extract - a traditional Korean medicinal plant with skin-soothing, antioxidant and wound healing abilities. An oil-soluble chemical sunscreen agent that protects skin in the UVB and somewhat in the UVA II range with a peak absorption of 304 nm. Its protection is not strong enough on its own but it is quite photostable (loses 10% of SPF protection in 95 mins) and is often used to stabilize other photo-unstable UV-filters, for example, Avobenzone. It is also often used to improve the water resistance of the products. An emollient plant oil that contains nourishing fatty acids and antioxidant vitamin E. It's especially rich in α-Linolenic acid (42-49%). This sunscreen has a pH level of 5, meaning it is very unlikely to irritate human skin since it is as close of a pH level to flesh as it possibly could. If you have spottedethylhexylglycerinon the ingredient list, most probably you will see there also the current IT-preservative, phenoxyethanol. They are good friends becauseethylhexylglycerincan boost the effectiveness of phenoxyethanol (and other preservatives) and as an added bonus it feels nice on the skin too. Contains natural extracts such as phyto-oligo, inca omega oil, and bamboo extracts. Ingredient List, Fragrance & Sunscreen Filters
