The Shadow Rising was re-released again in e-book format on January 19th, 2010. A new cover, by Sam Weber, depicts Mat Cauthon with his ashandarei and the tree of life behind him. Mat passes through the Twisted redstone doorframe in the Stone to get the answers for his three questions. He learns that he has to go to Rhuidean to survive and meet his fate. When protesting that the answers were unclear, he manages to get some additional answers saying his fate is to marry the Daughter of the Nine Moons, to die and live again and to give up half the light of the world to save the world. After being thrown out, he learns that Rand and Moiraine passed the doorframe as well, however, they refuse to reveal their questions and answers.

He Travels through with Perrin and the rest of his huge force to the Field of Merrilor to prepare for the Last Battle. Some examples, as provided by Roberts: “She managed to be pretty if not beautiful despite a nose that was overbold at best.” As he writes: “At best? How would it have been if had been the worst?” That is a hard question to answer since I love them all. For me the first record that I heard was Triumph of Steel, a true masterpiece but I mean: Battle Hymns, Hail to England, Into Glory Ride, Sign of the Hammer, Fighting the World are all masterpieces, so it is hard to say that one record is better than the other. Mat meets the sailor Bayle Domon early in his journey, while fleeing Shadar Logoth with Rand and Thom; during this time, Mat is still under the influence of the ruby-hilted dagger and later admits his memories of this period are spotty, with him barely remembering Domon when he meets him again over a year later in Ebou Dar. Here, he also meets Domon's lover and later wife Egeanin Tamarath, who as a Seanchan dissident is perfect for the party he needs to escape the city. Egeanin is supposed to play the role of Mat's lover as part of their cover story while fleeing Ebou Dar, but the two are generally standoffish with each other, with Egeanin awkwardly torn between her loyalties to her homeland and her desire to do the right thing regarding the flawed damane system. Mat finds Egeanin a cold and incomprehensible person, but much like the Aes Sedai, the two do develop a degree of mutual respect. Before the showdown with the Trollocs, Perrin marries Faile and tasks her with travelling to Caemlyn and asking Queen Morgase to lend soldiers in their fight.

The Wheel of time digs deep into new cultures as well as political intrigue of different types in the Shadow Rising. This is the 4th installation to the Wheel of Time series written by Robert Jordan and ranks among the top tier books in the series. So let’s find out what makes this book so great. They reunite with trader-turned-smuggler Bayle Domon, who sets them up with an inn and an information network. In Tel’aran’rhiod, Nynaeve encounters the dead hero Birgitte, and nearly runs afoul of both Slayer and the Forsaken Asmodean. Along with this journey, Rand learns of his real parentage and copes with the idea of being true Aiel born. After this incident, Thom, Mat, and the rest of their group decided to leave Luca's show. While riding through Altara, they met up with the Band of the Red Hand and began to travel with them. A short time later, Perrin's forces return to the Whitecloak encampment. Galad, thinking himself to be deceived, prepares to do battle with Aybara before realizing that Aybara's troops are battling an army of Trollocs, trying to save him. After combining forces to defeat the Shadowspawn, Galad sees the truth about Perrin and declares that his sentence is to fight with all his might at Tarmon Gai'don and that Perrin owes a blood price to the families of the dead men. After witnessing Perrin's compassion when he finds Jerum Nus, Galad is convinced that he is not a Darkfriend. Perrin then asks that the Children fight with his men and that he be accepted as their commander. Galad agrees to this request until the Last Battle is done.

Min Farshaw arrives at the White Tower to report to the Amyrlin, as Moiraine bid her to do. Her arrival is noted by Elaida, who discovers that something is going on between Moiraine, Siuan, and the Dragon Reborn. Min remains in the Tower in the guise of Elmindreda, a giddy, empty-headed woman unable to decide between two suitors. Elaida and her supporters confront and depose Siuan, stilling her and Leane Sharif, her Keeper of the Chronicles. Elaida is Raised (made Amyrlin) and many Aes Sedai flee. Min hides, and with the help of the cook Laras, frees the deposed Amyrlin Seat and Leane. Min, Siuan, and Leane are recognized by Gawyn Trakand as they try to flee the Tower grounds. He is reluctant to help Siuan since the disappearance of Elayne, but he helps them escape because Min asks it, and because it means helping Egwene as well. While riding through the city toward freedom across one of the bridges, they come across the gentled Logain, whom they talk into going with them. Perrin approaches Loial about taking him home via the Ways, but finds Faile there before him. Faile has made Loial promise to take her through the Ways before anyone else. Lan confronts Nynaeve about her plans to travel to Tanchico, then offers to leave Moiraine and come with her. Nynaeve sends him away. Rodel Ituralde tells a story about an unnamed Court Bard in Caemlyn, who must be Thom, juggling in front of an unnamed Daughter-Heir, who must be Elayne.
