The new Aiwa company adopted the old-school boombox design. Maybe they wanted to pay their respects to famous Aiwa boomboxes or to match this well-known name with a well-known design and make the product recognizable. They also managed to modernize this retro design and make it more visually appealing to new generations. S1 Pro has a rechargeable battery that can provide you with 11 hours of continuous playtime at 50% volume (up to 4h at full volume). If you are wondering what’s the loudest portable Bluetooth speaker from Bose, it’s this one – S1 Pro. It is a great PA speaker and it can be used for parties and other outdoor events. This speaker is also a great choice for musicians. You can connect a guitar or a mic to it, and you can control the volume of each source independently. Things we like The Bluetooth has good range and is reliable, I was able to still have good signal, no dropouts, and reliable connection even from across two rooms, larger in size. This means that you probably won’t have issues even if you’re actually using the speaker at a party and dancing around. The battery has a life of about 9 hours, for a moderate volume level, but that will be cut a bit shorter if you’ll be using the speaker at its maximum volume, but in that case you’ll surely either be at a rave, or have the cops called on you for noise disturbance, and I’m not half joking, this is a loud speaker at maximum volume. Another positive feature is the possibility to link two Aiwa Exos-9s together to enjoy stereo sound. But we couldn’t test this because we only had one unit. Sound

I’d like to thank AIWA for providing the sample for this review. This review reflects my personal experience with AIWA EXOS 9. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it, the purpose of this review is to help those interested in AIWA EXOS 9 find their next music companion. While we listened to considerably more songs than those named in this playlist, those are excellent for identifying certain aspects of the sound, like PRaT, Texturization, Detail, Resolution, Dynamics, Impact, and overall tonality. We recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you're searching for new most, most of them being rather catchy. On the rear panel, there’s the AC input, Ethernet port, AUX input, and two USB ports for service purposes. The front panel is almost entirely protected by a removable, semi-transparent grille. At the top, right above the grille, you have a simple LCD display and a volume knob. The grille protects 5 drivers – a 6.5in bass driver, two 3in mid-woofers, and two 1in tweeters. The PartyBox 1000 is the loudest in the PartyBox range and is intended for demanding environments like corporate events, parties, or entertainment venues. Are Aiwa Speakers Good?

The largest part of the front panel is covered with a removable and transparent aluminum grille that protects those 5 drivers we’ve talked about. You can leave the grille on or remove it – it all depends on your taste. Bose SoundTouch 30 and Exos-9 have similar design and size (but SoundTouch 30 is much heavier). They both support Bluetooth wireless streaming and that’s about it when it comes to similarities. Even though it has a huge battery, the speaker doesn’t have any USB charge-out ports for charging other devices. AIWA offers one year of official warranty for EXOS 9, but if you’ll be taking care of it, I would imagine it will survive way longer, the only part that you’ll need to eventually change being the battery, which can be found online for a few dollars. Given the 300 USD price point of the speaker, this is a good deal, and if you plan to hold a large party, having spare one or two spare batteries should get you through the night even if listening at full volume. Aiwa Exos-9 is a nice-looking and quite large Bluetooth speaker. It’s portable and you can use it outdoors but be aware that it’s not rugged or waterproof.

Moreover, its cross-compatibility with other Ultimate Ears Boom devices enhances the sound quality and volume, ensuring an unparalleled audio experience. Additionally, the app provides extra features that can be easily controlled, adding to the device’s overall appeal. Woburn II and the whole Marshall speaker line is one of the most attractive on the market. Woburn II features a very recognizable, some would even say iconic Marshall guitar amp design. It has a solid wooden cabinet wrapped in a nicely textured vinyl. The drivers are protected with a great-looking grille with the Marshall logo on it. Overall, it looks very refined, very sophisticated. The sound quality is what made Aiwa Exos-9 so popular but it’s not the only good thing about this speaker. The battery inside the speaker is pretty good (but there are some confusing things about the battery we are going to discuss). We also liked the facts that Exos-9 features USB powerbank port for charging phones/tablets and that you can customize the EQ settings by using onboard EQ controls. Exos-9 can be paired wirelessly with another Exos-9 speaker and you can choose between 2 modes – dual stereo and stereo separated (we are going to explain these two modes later). The speaker features wireless connectivity – it runs on Bluetooth 4.2 and it’s reliable and stable within the standard 30ft Bluetooth range. Multipoint pairing is supported – you can connect two phones wirelessly at the same time. Also, thanks to the Connect + feature and JBL’s Connect + app, you can pair two JBL Boombox speakers or any two speakers that support Connect + and play the music in stereo or party mode. Will you be outdoors often? Are you planning on taking this speaker everywhere? Is there a risk of dirt/sand/moisture? Do you want a speaker with an app? Then the hyperboom is a no brainer... and — you will be VERY happy with it! If you’ve never listened to an Exos 9, you’ll find pretty much nothing to complain about because it sounds great!

What I like

The manufacturers usually advertise the playtime without offering any info about the volume at which the playtime was measured. Aiwa was more honest than other manufacturers – they claim that you can get up to 10 hours at 85dB (but it’s really hard to tell what is 85dB since the volume level is not displayed on the LCD screen). We have managed to get 9 hours at 50% volume but only 3-4 hours at full volume. The battery life and playtime depend on the volume but also on the type of music (bass heavy music means more subwoofer movement which further means shorter playtime). PartyBox speaker line is similar to the SONY’s GTK XB line, only more powerful, more versatile, easier to use, louder, and with a much stronger battery. XB90 is the biggest Bluetooth speaker from the XB line and it still can’t compete with the PartyBox 300. Things we like When it comes to the sound, it all depends on your taste but Aiwa Exos-9 delivers much more balanced and more natural sound while JBL Boombox is more bass-oriented.
