Shade 8 Beige - For light to medium skin tones with a yellow undertone. Previously named 1B, Warm Fair For the coverage this concealer offers, combined with how creamy and blendable the formula is, I honestly don’t believe there’s a better concealer on the market. In fact, I’d call it the best concealer for acne in the UK. And that comes from someone who had cystic acne for 10 years — I’m a good concealer tester, let me tell you! With that said, I personally don’t think makeup helped or hindered my acne. I tried going without it for three weeks (as an experiment) and my skin didn’t improve or get any worse. I’ve also never noticed any correlation between where I put this concealer and where I put spots — for example, I usually put some on my chin and between my eyebrows, but rarely get spots there.If I had to use only one makeup product for the rest of my life, I would choose concealer every single time. As someone who is prone to acne scarring, has chronic dark circles and spends a lot of time trying to minimise her uneven skin tone, it's safe to say I rely heavily on concealer. Considering I don't really wear foundation, I use concealer in a myriad of ways. Not only does it disguise my under-eye bags, eradicate any signs of breakouts and cover up any redness, but it also works to even out my skin in a way that just leaves me feeling better about myself. Okay, my under eyes do look a little cakey here — but that was down to me applying too much powder to dry skin, not the concealer. I bought Shade 5 Fair, Shade 10 Buttermilk and Shade 8 Beige. Before the new release, I had a routine of mixing Shade 5 (previously shade Fair) and Shade 10 (previously Warm Medium) together. It seemed to create the perfect yellowy-pale tone for my skin! Okay, so I know the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is a tried-and-tested classic — but have I ever told you that, in my opinion, it’s the best concealer for acne of all-time? It’s definitely long-lasting, and I could easily go a whole day (say, 8 am to 8 pm) without touching up and still feeling content with the state of my face. As with most makeup products, it does show some signs of wear after a whole day of wear — it creases a little under the eyes and redness slowly starts to peak through — but compared to others I’ve tried, it’s still a winner. To sculpt and contour, use a concealer 1-4 shades lighter than your skin tone to highlight, & another 1-4 shades darker to contour. Apply lighter shade down the nose, under the eye and centre of the forehead to illuminate. Use the darker shade to add dimension to your face, contouring your cheekbones, jawline and hairline Shade 4 Extra Fair – For fair skin tones with a warm neutral undertone. [Previously named, 0, Extra Fair] And this is me with my finished makeup. The concealer is the only thing I used for coverage, before following with Collection’s pressed powder in translucent. Pair with one of Collection’s Lasting Perfection Foundation shades, now formulated to perfectly match each concealer shade, making it easier to shop your base than ever before.

So, if you know you’re potentially sensitive to any of the ingredients listed, do a patch test first. But considering thousands of acne-prone girls like myself rave about this concealer, I honestly don’t think the ingredients are much to worry about. Just make sure you’re removing your makeup well at the end of the day and you’ll be good to go! But this used to do the job perfectly. Once blended out (gently) with a small sponge, you couldn’t see any transition between the concealer and my bare skin. I’d then just set over where I’d applied concealer very lightly with a translucent powder. It was such a relief to find something that meant I could hide my spots, but keep my real skin shining through. And the new version? In all honesty, the formula doesn’t seem to have changed (and I’m damn well pleased about it). It still covers redness instantly, neutralises my under eye circles and works its magic on even the angriest of spots!
