About this deal

Most breakfast cereals are made using either wheat and/or barley malt extract. Both wheat and barley contain gluten, so they need to be avoided on gluten-free diets. Kellogg’s Corn Flakes are not gluten-free! Although this breakfast cereal is made from 90% maize (which doesn’t contain gluten), barley malt extract is on its ingredients list. Therefore, they’re not suitable for coeliacs or non-gluten eaters and may also contain gluten from other cereals. Gluten-free alternatives to Kellog’s Corn Flakes Gluten is found in products containing wheat, barley, rye, and sometimes oats, and derivatives of those grains.

One Degree makes sprouted rice cereals that are a good gluten-free alternative to Rice Krispies. I think the cereal tastes good and has a superior taste and crunch. I’ve been buying this cereal for a long time and use it when I make rice crispy treats. These corn flakes do not contain malt barley, but they do present a risk of cross-contamination with gluten ingredients during the manufacturing process. For this reason, they are not labeled gluten free: Lovebird is a grain-free cereal made from cassava, coconut, coconut oil, and Himalayan salt, an ingredient list the brand proudly and prominently features on the front of its boxes, similar to Rx Bars. Which Cereal Grains Are Gluten Free?

Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal is not gluten-free. Although made from rice (which is naturally free from gluten), barley malt syrup is added. This sweetener is produced from barley, one of the primary sources of gluten. If you’re cutting gluten from your diet, Rice Krispies are a no-go!
