About this deal

I think the KRKs are so overhyped at this point, and fair enough, they’ve certainly earned their place. At a certain point though, when will we stop buying things just because they’re the popular choice? Save yourself the headache and get the T7V. The U-ART tweeter is fitted to a precision waveguide with the same dispersion-control attributes as the High Frequency Propagation (HPS) waveguide used in ADAM Audio’s flagship S Series studio monitors. The waveguide’s highly uniform dispersion of high frequencies provides an incredibly wide sweet spot that frees you from being glued to a rigid mix position while working. Powerful Projection Weighing in at only 7.1kg, the Adam T7Vs are equally well suited on the move. If you frequent multiple studio locations or travel aboard, there's no reason why you can't use these as part of a mobile production setup without compromising clarity and quality. Excellent acoustic characteristics, small dimensions and an outstanding cost/performance ratio make this studio monitor perfectly suited for use in small control rooms in music, video and broadcast production too.

I use these mostly for metal music and some electronic stuff etc. I have had these monitors about 4 months. Good time to write review. When I first got these monitors I felt quite bad because I literally couldn't hear the C3 frequency. This was because the sound bouncing on the wall canceled out the sound coming directly from the monitors. I had 4 mattresses lying around so I built a little half cubical around my desk and this made the sound not drop out at important frequencies. Of course the frequency dips in some places but nothing drops out completely. To me it would make more sense to use it this way rather than thinking "if I buy a sub then I'll get the astonishing system predicted by the sub score". That is just not going to happen: sub or not the room will still determine the system LF response. As is often the case with the mid-sized monitors, the Adam T7V is the one that makes you wonder if the added weight and size is worth it when the only moderately bigger and heavier. Adam T8V offers way more power and bass response. The 7" polypropylene woofer and rear-firing bass reflex port deliver tight, controlled low end response. Powered by a 50w low end amplifier, it offers the perfect balance of smooth bass against the detailed top end of a ribbon tweeter. Exactly what you need for a balanced mix that translates well onto other systems. The waveguide’s highly uniform dispersion of high frequencies provides an incredibly wide sweet spot that frees you from being glued to a rigid mix position while working. The speaker is rear-ported, and they’ve flared the port exit to reduce any amount of port noise that may have been an issue otherwise. Compared to other studio monitors

The T7V has both balanced and unbalanced inputs, as well as controls for adjusting the overall level and the high‑ and low‑frequency response. With a specified SPL rating of up to 110dB per pair at one metre, the available level is more than adequate for the intended nearfield deployment — though there’s no clip LED to warn you if you push things too hard. Furthermore, the power LED is on the rear panel; there’s no power indication visible from the front. In Practice Switching between the T7Vs and our regular ATC monitoring systems (SCM100A mains and SCM25A mid-fields), showed the ADAMs to be basically tonally accurate, with only the faintest hint of bass bloom. Many users will prefer this presentation as it more faithfully mimics the sonic character of much domestic audio equipment; these users would likely find the smaller T5Vs a little lean. Also the soundstage they provide is huge. It's very wide and every instrument is well positioned in the stereo field. The scores are only indicative as the resolution of the scans, although interpolated to a correct 1/20th octave step, is most probably too coarse, especially since we have no information regarding the calculation of the ER which may or may not be off like for the NFS’.The T7V features a 7-inch woofer which adds to the high-resolution of the stereo image and produces a deep and punchy low end, attributed to the rear-firing bass reflex port.
