About this deal

Fragrances like 'Amazing Grace' are the perfect example as to why I really wish that Fragrantica had an option that allowed us to judge a scent as being 'meh'. A way of saying that we don't like nor dislike a fragrance. Because sometimes we can smell something and think, well it's not UNpleasant, but I can't say that I really like it. You can trust the main accords proportion they've shown above for this one, exactly it's like that!

So if you like any of the above (except Simply Belle), you'll like (and probably love) Amazing Grace. what I love about philosophy is the fragrances are soapy and inoffensive but have a selection of powerfully emotive notes.Absolute soap scent. That I absolutely love! The lavender is prominent, so if you don't like lavender, skip this one. The notes I detect in this are water lily, lavender + soft dewy green notes & light musk. Nothing is overpowering, everything is soft like a breeze. 😊 I dislike these fragrances and finally realized that what I hate about them is the powdery note/dry-down. I can't believe there are 3 citruses listed here as notes, I barely smell any, just a bit of bergamot for a few fleeting minutes. I really don't smell jasmine either, it's just "white floral" (so "freesia" works, because that's exactly how freesia always seems to me). I also get 0 rose (if you want a clean rose&musk try Lazy Sunday Morning), truly all I smell here is musk and freesia. At first I hated it. Upon first spray all I could detect was a sharp smell of chemicals almost like hair spray. After a while when it had settled down it turned to a floral soapy freshness. I don’t really smell any jasmine on me it smells more like lily of the valley.. maybe its my chemistry or my poor recognition of notes On Fragrantica, these would be the EDTs: Amazing Grace 20th Birthday Special Edition, Amazing Grace Melarie Odelusi Limited Edition

Top is super short-lived. Citrus for literally the first 2 seconds .. so fleeting I can’t really distinguish which citrus is present. (If I had to guess, mostly bergamot?) There’s also a brief, spicy, slightly green floral note. The rest of the wear is a fairly linear mix of slightly sweet florals and powdery musk. It definitely fits in with Philosophy’s “Grace” line .. that signature “clean”/musky accord forms the base of the fragrance. I didn't think soap though when i first smelled it although i now know by association what that's meant to mean, and I didn't like any of the other philosophy fragrances that were out at that time. who and when can you wear it? I think it's fine as unisex, a man wearing it will smell of inoffensive neutral mild soap and shampoo. Just clean and showered. Since it is so mild and neutral it can be worn any time of year, but would be great in fall with a cozy sweater and also in summer when you want a mild light smell.there are no sharp citrus notes here so it would be perfect for relaxing on the beach or q summer picnic when you want to just smell clean. Definitely not a evening scent unless you are going to bed TO SLEEP in comfy pajamas and cuddling your dog or teddy bear. On a night time date at a fancy restaurant or sophisticated event this scent is not enough at all. It is pretty smelling, clean and inoffensive so would be great for the office or church or weddingsI don't think this is old fashioned, nor sexy, nor interesting, and certainly not memorable. But it's *nice* and clean, and finally my curiosity is satiated. I've smelled this before though, no doubt about it! It's very familiar, although I can't recall who it was on (it's actually driving me nuts). I have no doubt most people have encountered this somewhere, at some point. You'll probably think "Ohhhh...this! OK, I know this smell! 💡" Ignore the above votes that say this reminds them of Jennifer Aniston's debut perfume. It smells NOTHING like it. Absolutely nothing. The scent by "Clean," I've never smelled but I would bet money that it smells identical to that one. But not Jennifer Aniston. Maybe I have strange body chemistry, but I’m always on the lookout for a fragrance that doesn’t dry down to, and linger on my skin, as its most readily identifiable, one-dimensional base note (e.g. tonka bean, patchouli, sandalwood, tuberose, musk, etc.). For that reason, most fragrances, no matter how cheap or expensive, wind up falling into one of about a dozen familiar, tired old cloying base scents that come across to me (and others in my proximity, I fear) as something of an headache and/or allergy-triggering olfactory assault instead of an enhancement. Some people really seem to love this, and I wanted to, but as other reviewers have noted, it smells like a harsh, screechy freesia-and-baby-powder fabric softener sheet to (and on) me.

After wearing it for a few days I can now say I do sometimes smell laundry soap. Specifically the big yellow box of powdered Tide laundry soap. So to me it doesn't smell like clean clothes, or freshly laundered sheets or whatever, but it does smell a bit like a box of lemon scented laundry soap before it goes into the water. I loved it, and I still do. It is light and fresh, but with that muskiness in the base that makes it last on the skin. It doesn't lean too citrus or too white floral. It's a really unique blend that I haven't smelt in any other perfume! It's very feminine and soft. Overall, I quite like it but for the price I'd rather spend it on something else. It's way too soft (even softer than Burberry Brit Rhythm, which is already very soft on me) and if I want the cleanness, I can just take an extra shower and emerge with the same clean smell on me at a bargain price. Still, for those of you who like fragrance that doesn't attract attention and is quite safe, this might just be for you. I used to make fun of this for being a boring church girl perfume, but then I smelled it. It's great! I think jasmine is one of my power notes and this is a nice, dry, clean jasmine/rose with a really beautiful musk base. I also have some of the lotion, which seems to leave a lingering scent for even longer. It's really nice layered with almost anything (I recommend layering with an ambroxan scent like Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume!) and it's a good squeaky clean scent on its own. There is something about it that feels timeless without coming off as old fashioned. I can understand why it's so popular.

Multi-tasking skincare and feel-good perfumes are the beating heart of Philosophy. Fully tested for safety and efficacy, these formulas are everything you need to smell good and feel even better.

This is a review of the EdP, not the EdT or “fragrance spray” or whatever Philosophy used to call it. (I have an older bottle, BTW .. with dense sparkles at the bottom that disperse toward the top of the bottle, circa 2014-2015.. ish.) Lightly and soft, yet longevity are so long (12hrs it still lingers on your skin), but poor sillage, spray on your clothes can help to show more smell Additionally, I was pregnant with my bubba (He's absolutely beautiful, thanks for asking!) last year/early this year, and the degree of powder in this scent made it intolerable to me while I was up the duff (I bought this perfume not long prior to getting pregnified). Unfortunately, I *know* this made me hesitant about cultivating a love for this fragrance. That old perfume-nausea association.
