About this deal

Until recently, I had a fairly typical level of dashboard noise. Some minor dashboard creaks and rattles that seemed very dependent on ambient temperature. Some days there was hardly any dash noise at all. Please note, I'm not OCD or anything, the only car I have had in the past that has had as many rattles as this car was a Rover 25! I've not been to the dealer about any as I don't have any close by... Car Builders Fleece Tape is used for a range automotive and industrial applications. Available in 19mm or 24mm wide - both are 15m long. NVELOPE systems only use the superior 6005 T6 alloy which provides superior strength and performance over and above other commonly used aluminum. If you’ve noticed that your dashboard has already been vibrating for a long time, you’ve probably surmised that certain driving conditions can aggravate the issue. Naturally, any loose parts in your car will vibrate more when you’re traversing rough terrain. However, that doesn’t mean the road itself is the cause of the noise. You shouldn’t have to avoid bumpy streets just because your dashboard is acting up.

Thought I'd share the rattles I've fixed in the hope of helping others and maybe getting some tips for the other rattles. In 2012, Lexus caused a sensation with the unveiling of its LF-LC concept at the Detroit motor show, its vision for a radical new flagship coupe. Four years later, the concept became reality with an almost unchanged design for the production-ready LC. Now that model’s award-winning history reaches its pinnacle with the new LC 500 Ultimate Edition A highly conformable, non-reflective, polyester fabric felt tape, coated with an environmentally friendly adhesive. Excellent for the temporary repair of most theatrical drapes, fabrics and flags within the movie industry. Aluminum is the second most widely used metal after iron and as such has a robust and well defined UK and international supply chainVery happy with the door seals suggestion! This was driving me nuts and yes, it does sound like the seat belt mechanism! My solution is to just apply silicon spray on a rag and apply. I do not want to add any substance that could start to build up. Works a treat, very Lexus quiet again! It is only the right-rear door that was doing it. It happens to be the door that stays closed most of the time. The dealer looked for the rattle many times and was not able to fix. it. As a Lexus dealer you would think that noisy door seals could be common. Anyway, this is really a great forum and happy to have joined. It's also for guys like Darren sharing his experience so others can benefit. Thanks Darren! Even though those clips make it easier to remove those trim panels, they’re also notoriously loose. It’s a problem most car manufacturers have noticed, which is why they often put anti-rattle padding around them. However, if you remove that padding and put your own solution in place, you may be able to alleviate the noise and strengthen the hold of the clips. 4. Adjust the Glove Compartment Latch After you park, try to replicate the sound manually — it goes without saying, but you should take the key out of the ignition at this point. Again, you’ll want to push against the dashboard, but avoid punching it. The impact noise may conceal the underlying rattle. Besides, using unnecessary force can often exacerbate the problem. 2. Open the Trim Panels and Secure the Internal Components

I put it on the inner rubber seal interface, on the metal not the rubber, so the seal shuts of against the felt strip rather than the metal work. Hope this helps. To test if you need to do this see if cleaning the seal and I interfaces helps. I used a product recommended on here (Gummi nueflitz or something, I'll confirm if you want to go Down that route). This sorted the seal rattles on mine for a few months. Most people slather their bike in see-through helicopter tape, and while this will protect the paintwork, it won’t do anything to deaden the sound of shrapnel hitting the down tube.Dashboard vibrations are probably the most annoying sounds your vehicle could ever produce. If your car is generally a rattletrap, one more source of noise probably won’t be a huge problem. However, if you’ve taken great pains to prevent all the other squeaks and scrapes it can make, a new clatter can be particularly maddening. With that in mind, I wanted to explain how to stop dashboard rattle if you ever hear it. Rough terrain causes the chain to slap against the frame. Assuming your chain is the correct length, and you’re not ready to splash out on a clutch derailleur and narrow/wide chainring, the first thing to do is make sure your chainstay armour is up to scratch.

I can't believe where my hearing made me think rattles were coming from to where they actually were. I was convinced for 2 years the steering shroud or dial trim was rattling, turned out to be the lower driver's knee roll by the airbag. Last thought I ended up putting some felt tape between the small plastic moulding where the glovebox meets the centre console, maybe press around there while it's happening as well. I was told that "several" companies make foam sleeves that slide over the existing cable housing to damper the rattling.

Drivers side lower, knee airbag and lower trim panel. Stuffed this entire area with foam strips, not a 100% fix yet so need another go at it, but I think the source of the issue is the lower narrow panel, so going to try and build more tension in an isolate it a bit better. or maybe the airbag fixing. only rattles when cold, but it is a persistent one until the car warms up. Local industrial hdw store. Got 3/4" dia foam. No hole in it. Comes on roll. Cut into 4" lengths and pierce a hole. Thread on hyd hose, shift cable housing as needed. Kind of the way you would string popcorn for xmas in the old days. Excellent adhesion to many painted metal and plastic surfaces Helping Make Life a bit More Peaceful Wide-ranging upgrades have strengthened the appeal of the Lexus UX 300e, the urban crossover launched three years ago as Lexus’s first all-electric model. These revisions enable the UX 300e to go further between charges; raise the cabin’s aesthetic appeal, comfort, and convenience; and make the car – Lexus’s “Creative Urban Explorer” – even more enjoyable to drive However, I decided that I could make it much better by buying some rubber sealing strip and inserting it between the dash and windscreen. Once installed, the strip was pretty much invisible unless you knew it was there, and it did completely silence any of the exsiting dashboard noises. And I felt pretty pleased with myself .. for a while.

Reach into the compartment and try to shake any of the parts you see. Wow that's bad, could you have maybe partially unclipped something, I can't imagine vibrations have traveled and shaken something lose. There is normally a sealing strip (foam) in that area any way, maybe you could have accidentally pushed this out of position. Lexus has a proud history of pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. Since its founding in 1989, it has repeatedly pioneered new thinking and new products that have changed people’s perceptions and reshaped the luxury car market. It has constantly evolved the concept of what luxury means, not just by creating desirable and exciting products, but also by redefining the complete ownership experience. Internal cable routing is pretty standard kit now, but those cables are often free to move about inside your frame, turning the thing into a musical (if sonically awful) instrument. Like a banjo, basically.
