About this deal

Andersenwas inspired bytraditional Scandinavian, German and Greek stories, from ancient times to the Middle Ages. Fables, realincidentsand natural phenomena alsotriggered his imagination. In a masterful way, he wove different materials and influences to create thefairytalesthat we know today. But the storyteller, who was born into a very poor household in 1805,did not only write fairy tales. Very few people know that Andersen also wrote poems, plays, novels and travelogues and was a very talented silhouette artist. The writer's birthplace in Odense Image: H.C. Andersen House Another classic, albeit one I wasn't too familiar with. This one is also based on a classic European folktale, and it's got all the famous elements we see in other tales like Cinderella. Evil stepmother, a bit of magic, and the transformative power of love.

Inspired by the swallow in Thumbelina,VeronicaHodges has created a fantastic paper installation. Another installation artist, Brazilian Henrique Oliveira placed a massive tree installation in Odense, inspired by The Tinder Box.The artist and the short film director Timothy David Ormehascreated an animated journey into Andersen's fantasy world. Cutouts, light and shadow, a spiral staircase Image: Kengo Kuma & AssociatesHans began writing poems when he was a teenager, but started to make a name for himself as a short story writer. Published in 1829, his short story called “A Journey on Foot from Holmen’s Canal to the East Point of Amager” became a runaway success. Beautiful, uncorrupted nature versus the corrupt hustle and bustle of the city. Andersen as environmentalist, perhaps? On art and those who would seek to eradicate it. Used during WWII by the Danish Resistance. Without art, without culture, there is nothing. Woah! I was not expecting that! This reads much more like something Franz Kafka would have written than Hans Christian Andersen. Surprisingly dark and spookily strange. There's nothing else quite like it in Andersen's oeuvre.

Hans Christian Andersen once said, "Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale." And his life certainly was an extraordinary rags to riches story. The son of an illiterate washerwoman and a poor cobbler, who may secretly be a royal prince, who, through sheer persistence and influential help from an unlikely source, becomes a world-famous author, in a privileged position, hobnobbing with royalty" Just living is not enough’, said the butterfly, ‘one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.’ He now felt glad at having suffered sorrow and trouble, because it enabled him to enjoy so much better all the pleasure and happiness around him.I hope I never buy myself into believing I have a set “ destination “, a place where I no longer grow and learn, a final place where in this life where it will be so perfect that I would give up the journey. A journey that allows me to grow, stretch, or change. To me, the beauty of any “destination” that you land at is only a stepping stone to another destination. With it being a stepping stone to your next destination, it means you are given another path where you can grow, change, meet new people, and transform into the person you’re suppose to be. Every town, like every man, has its own countenance; they have a common likeness and yet are different; one keeps in his mind all their peculiar touches.

Fusnota prva: Kako postoji silesija izdanja, Andersenove "Bajke i priče" čitao sam u Nolitovom izdanju iz 1992, edicija "Moja knjiga", u izboru, prevodu i predgovoru Petra Vujačića. The Little Match Girl,The Princess and the Pea,The Tin Soldierand The Little Mermaid:these are just some of the most famous fairy-tales by Hans Christian Andersen. Altogether, he wrote around a 160 tales, which were publishedin eight volumesfrom 1835 to 1848 and have been translated into over 120 languages. I thought this one was much too long, featured too many religious overtones, and was ultimately quite unmemorable. Overshadowed by many, much better, stories.the next app I use is FACETUNE. depending on the picture I go in and just do some finishing touches and just enhance details! After "The Little Mermaid", this is likely my favorite of Andersen's stories, and after "The Little Mermaid" it's also probably his most famous. You all know the story, no need for me to recap it here, but I was surprised to learn that the little boy's famous cry at the end of "But he doesn't have anything on!" was hastily added by Andersen after the story had already been sent off to the printer's. This is a satire as excellent and brilliant today, in the age of Trump, as ever. Wow!! ITS 2018 ALREADY!! and not even that, its already almost March. I can’t believe how fast time is flying by!!! This is insane. One of my absolute favorite things to do!! This year i am making it a priority to take a weekend trip atleast once a month! So in January, Skylar and I took a road trip to Port Aransas which was super fun. And this month Chelle and I took a trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which was a BLAST!!!!

perhaps? Ironically, at the age of fourteen, when he left home, he had predicted this outcome, "First you go through terrible suffering and then you become famous." This is the first story in the collection that I don't remember having heard before. And it is absolutely fabulous. Quite darker than the ones that preceded it as well. To call it the Danish "Rumplestiltskin" doesn't quite do it justice, and I actually think I liked it better than that famous Grimm Brothers' tale.Life is beautiful and full of so many amazing paths and sights to see and ways to learn and there is no way to know what the future will hold or what roads my fabulous journey will take me down. And if i take a different path altogether, so be it. The thing about a journey is you never know what to expect, it’s full of wonderful mysteries and to me- that’s the most amazing part. You never know what you’ll see around the corner, or who you’ll meet or the sights youll see. My earthly destination will always be home- wherever that may be, and you can bet that i plan on seeing some things before i get there. Ephesians 2:10 ” For we are Gods handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Hans Christian Andersen never thought of himselfonly as a storyteller for children. It was important to him that socio-critical or satirical elements of his story, which he consciously included for adult readers, were highlighted as much as the fantastic and fabulous. The museum has its own "children's area,"includingan atelier with the name "VilleVau," where children can be creative and participate in workshops. Here, Hans Christian Andersen's fairy-tale motifs are made accessible to children. but the love between these two will never die!! their bond is special, and they will always love eachother, this mare has impacted whitneys life in ways not many understand. This mare taught Whitney how to trust, how to ride, that speed is fun. whitney overcame many obstacles when it comes to riding and its because of this mare right here!! only 7 years old and she’s NEVER been strapped in and now she running 2d-3d-4d times and thats because of this mare. but mist of all, this mare taught whitney the true meaning of love. whitney would sit outside and wash her, talk to her, groom her, clean her stall, do anything and everything for this mare and never think twice because she LOVED her. you could see the love and respect they had for one another! the connection between them will never die. it will always be there! Delightfully poetic. This is the first of Andersen's stories in this collection to feature inanimate objects brought to life. I'd never noticed how clearly Andersen influenced later films like "Toy Story" until I read this story about the quite appropriately named Steadfast Tin Soldier.
