The illustrations in Monsterology are incredible, as with all the books in the Ologies series. This was the book that first brought creatures of mythology into my life, and the descriptions and stories about said creatures were extraordinarily useful for bringing the illustrations to life. Eastern dragons are split between the five-toed Chinese long and the four-toed Korean yong, Japanese ryu and an Indonesian subspecies. Tibetan dragons are a separate, but physically similar, species adapted for mountain life.
