About this deal

PS: This is everything, but MAL needs more text and I have nothing left to give, so I will be wirting "Harleys in Hawaii" from Katy Perry, enjoy and stream Konishi launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine in November 2015, and ended it in November 2016. Ichijinsha published two compiled book volumes for the manga. I just never managed to get into them - well now, that’s an interesting thing to say about one’s exes…. All in all, The Summer of You was a more than decent read and I’m sure that will appeal to ardent shounen-ai fans. The author's note says something like "hope to see you again," so it's possible there might be a Volume 3 eventually. It's not necessary, but it could be nice to see more of their relationship developing. I would've liked to see more of Saeki visiting Wataru, maybe, since Wataru still lives with his family, or to have their friend groups fold together a bit. It seems like Wataru's coworker suspects some things, and would be supportive, and that would've been a fun moment.

I'll be reading the next volumes, but not with much excitement. Really hope they're gonna get on the same level soon, because I do want to enjoy this. I just love them so much. I mean, how can you do that, Nagisa? I'm claiming it again, just how I claimed it before. You really reached me with your words too. Simple words, and yet, slaps me like a huge wave, sending me flying and crying. It hurts in a good way. And I need a love like it too. The whole approach to the relationship from Wataru his side could be framed as kind of gay-baiting, but overal the story and art style work fine enough and the humor is enjoyable, if not alway intentional:

It’s good that publishers like Kodansha and Yen Press are bringing out a range of BL titles that are accessible to readers of the same age as the protagonists. Even though this has a 16+ age rating, there’s really nothing that could be regarded as unsuitable for a ‘Teen’ rating.

But no matter how satisfying a relationship unfolds, from the hesitation down to the long awaited confession, somehow it leaves readers like me wanting to see more. This book was exactly the satisfaction I needed. I need more summers with them. I feel like it doesn't end there. Nagisa is right, the story is still rolling even after end credits. I believe that there's still another volume coming. I just want to see the side of Wataru that is fighting for their relationship. I want to see him grow as a man in love. I think I want to see a more vivid and undeniable panel that would scream at me like: here's your freaking dinner, devour it at once! If at this point you're sensing something major looming in the future, you're not wrong. It's not tragic, which is nice, and certainly not irreparable either, but it does force Wataru to more fully confront his own emotions and to realize that while Saeki may have said he didn't expect anything to come of his crush, Wataru himself now wants their relationship to change. He's worried, because Saeki really is a good friend, but the rest of it doesn't matter, and that's lovely to see. It's especially nice because of the way that the art shows us how both boys are feeling – Saeki gives the impression of holding himself very tightly, while Wataru slowly begins to incline towards Saeki, both in his feelings and in the way his body language changes over the course of the book. By the time the confession comes, we're expecting it, but that doesn't cheat it of any of its impact. There are lots of blushing and doki doki scenes. There's tons of my favourite thing: hand-holding. They kiss and confess their love. It's just adorable. My favourite moment was the moment just before it turns into a yaoi. It totally doesn't, it stays fully wholesome but there's one moment that heavily hints at what could have been which is fun because it triggers your imagination without ruining the vibe of the manga. Kodansha Comics began publishing the manga digitally on March 24. Junko launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine in June 2019.I liked seeing glimpses of their separate lives and the time they spend with their friends. It's a healthy balance, with absolutely no drama about possessiveness, sudden romantic rivals, or unnecessary bursts of jealousy - they care about each other, and they're confident and secure in their relationship. Kind of a unique thing to see in this genre, really. This is a very mellow shounen-ai that makes for easy reading. While I wasn’t all that taken by the mangaka’s art style (something about the faces didn’t vibe with moi) I’m sure many other readers will fall in love with it. I liked the slow-burn friends-to-lovers dynamic between Wataru and Chiharu; however, I could have done without the ‘past meeting’ storyline. It was obvious and rather contrived. Kodansha will begin publishing the manga digitally on July 21. Fukuda launched the manga spinoff of Cells at Work! in Kodansha's Morning magazine in October 2019. Kodansha released the manga's first compiled book volume on January 9. The manga took a two-month hiatus from December 2019 to February 2020.

Synopsis: It's no easy feat to keep a body happy and healthy, so even the newest cells have their tiny-winey, chubby-wubby hands full! Join these cute baby cells as they work hard within their newborn baby body, in this newest (literally!) spinoff of Cells at Work! Movies bond them together and lead to some real banter, and at least not the “boom, now I am in love with you” approach many other manga in the genre seem to take. Edit: oops parece que si tiene continuación. 😱 Aunque no tenga tanta buenas reseñas seguramente lo lea. This was still sweet and lovely and had a lot of great points; it just didn't quite live up to the quality of the first volume, and it's oddly slow-paced and kind of anticlimactic. Not that it's bad to have a story where nothing in particular happens...I'm glad to be spending more time with these characters and seeing more of their lives together. I really do enjoy indulging in those quiet, everyday scenes. But it strikes me as odd that they've been dating for what....a year and a half? Two years...? And still barely even kiss.

In The Summer of You we follow Wataru Toda and “hot guy” Chiharu Saeki, who coincidentally is also a bit aloof and very outspokenly romantic towards Wataru.

This is the only manga that made me cry like a baby, I'm writing this during my class and I'm crying just remembering how great it was. Highly recommended. I loved it because it was a story of discovery, he realized how much his friend liked him and how his heart started to race when he was thinking of him, to the point of crying because he wasn't there (a little manipulative if you ask, but-).
