About this deal

Finally comes the end phase, when tokens are managed, a new first players is determined, and another turn begins. There are mechanics that add to the game however, barricades, for example, can be built in front of windows and doors and can only be removed by one type of Ghoul, time or certain events. When you flip the card, you become Slippery in Blue, you get +1 action in Yellow, you can choose between +1 free combat action or +1 free move action in Orange and in Red you can either roll +1 combat dice, +1 free move action or Barbarian where you can substitute the number of on the melee weapon with the number of Ghouls in your zone. You see, there is a new mechanic in play that changes the game and if I am honest, I am not sure I really like it. It’s not a bad change and its probably personal preference but I just don’t like the Romero mode.

In the game, each player controls from one (for 6 players) to four (solo game) "survivors", human beings in a zombie-infested town. In fact, "survivors" hastily change to "hunters" to smash zombies through and through. However, the team must keep the balance between survival and slaughter: as the zombicide's going on, the "danger level" is going up and infected are growing in numbers. [2] Gameplay [ edit ] Before the beginning of the game, a mission is chosen. The playing area is built with board tiles and features (icons representing cars, doors and objectives) according to the selected mission. Each players chooses one or more survivors to play and everyone places their survivors on the starting area of the board. Throughout the game, survivors may collect better items and gain experience to help them kill more zombies and accomplish their mission. Night of the living dead is a stand alone Zombicide game that can be played with one to six players. It has been reported that people how have recently died have been returning to life and rampaging through cities and towns. Morgues, funeral homes and hospitals are reporting that the unburied dead are rising and seeking out human flesh. It has been confirmed that these undead 'zombies' can be killed by a shot to the head or heavy blow to the skull, there can be no remorse, this vicious killing mob seem to show no sign of their former nature driven only by their desire to take human victims. In this co operative board game you can become the heroes from the famous zombie movie Night of the Living Dead, play the roles of survivor, find weapons, kill the zombies and save us all!

Night of the Living Dead: A Zombicide Game has the same core gameplay as other Zombicide games, but players with previous Zombicide experience may notice a slower pace of game, which works very well in capturing the theme of the movie. The game has been expanded to several settings and spin-off games. All settings and spin-off games feature significantly different mechanics. The game is designed for every product for each setting/spin-off game to be easily mixed, but not to be mixed across settings/spin-offs. [6] An entry from The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction commented on the "complex gameplay" and difficulty. The writer Esther MacCallum-Stewart also praised the digital application that "greatly aids gameplay". [4] Awards [ edit ] If the players are able to complete all objectives, they are winners and may proceed to the following scenario. If, on the other hand, the zombies kill all survivors, the game is lost. [3] Development [ edit ]

Night of the Living Dead is not the best Zombicide game, but it is good. If you have a games collection it’s one that should be in it however if you are new to Zombicide, this is not the place to start, or finish really. Its another Zombicide game with great minis and some fun to be had but this will not be your go-to game for a night of undead bashing. Prices delivered by BoardGamePrices

Some of the other well-trodden features of the wider series remain here in Zombicide: Night of the Living Dead, in particular the excellent build quality and use of miniatures. There are loads of zombie models to blast through and each player character is even represented twice among the minis, with one model showing their Romero persona and the other cast a more aggressive one to match Zombicide mode. The recessed plastic player aids are excellent and retain the usual slots for items to stand in, and the same XP slider as in other iterations. The one key difference here is the embossed “Night of the Living Dead” logo on them, which adds a real touch of class. Well, I am sure you all know that here at Nerdly we love a good zombie movie, and at the same time we’re also fans of CMON’s Zombicide game series. Having already covered both Zombicide: Green Horde and Zombicide: Invader, I often wonder what new ideas CMON will come up with next, besides a simple re-theme. Well, having now played it, Zombicide: Night of the Living Dead is perhaps the most unique iteration of the series to date – offering the only theme based on an existing intellectual property, as well as the most unique ruleset we’ve seen to date. I will use Barbera’s card as an example of the skills and how they are distributed. In Romero mode, Barbera has one skill in Yellow, in orange and one in Red. They are, in Yellow, Slippery, you can move out of a space with Ghouls in with no penalty, in Orange +1 action and in Red +1 move action.Ludo Award Best Board Game Popular Winner | Board Game Honor | BoardGameGeek". boardgamegeek.com .
