It is imperative to note that ILIFE, also a Chinese brand, was a massive competition for this growing brand, so diversifying the market was a brilliant idea from ECOVACS.

Being a hybrid, a 42 ml dust bin collects hair, dust, or other messes. The water tank has a capacity of about 200 milliliters. The capacity is the average for hybrid models. Unfortunately, the mopping attachments are disposable. The cloth has to be thrown away and changed after up to 5 passes. Considering the price range, we would have preferred a small cloth mop that can be cleaned with a washing machine. That would be more eco-friendly and eliminate high follow-up costs when users always have to buy new disposable mops. Features and functions of the Deebot T9 Speaking of the two attachments: Ecovacs has changed the mop cloths that come with its dual-function bots. Those that we tested with the Deebot T8 were washable and reusable, but the ones supplied with the T9 Plus are disposable. We did manage to wash ours once but they’re thin and don’t do a good job after. We found that wasteful and it adds towards ongoing costs where you need to replace the mopping pads regularly. The air freshener capsule is also proprietary and if you wish to continue using it regularly, you’ll need to buy the Ecovacs options. You control the robot vacuum using an intuitive companion app that’s easy to navigate. On Deebot’s first run around your apartment, it creates a highly accurate map, so you can clean custom areas based on needs. It’s also from here that you can adjust settings and create schedules. You’ll even receive notifications on your phone if there are issues during cleaning and also once cleaning is complete. But I am more interested in the X1 OMNI. It is one of the most expensive ECOVACS robot vacuums but worth every penny. It has almost the same features as the Roomba j7+ Combo. What are some of Deebot’s competitors?So far, so good; Roombas have passed the test of time, something ECOVACS is yet to do. One reason for this is that Roombas have been around for longer. Their latest models, Roomba S9, i7, and j7, have the revolutionary VSLAM navigation that uses a real-time camera. N7 and N8 have powerful 3200 mAh batteries to work 110 minutes in standard mode with the possibility of automatic recharge and resume. Their standard charging time is 4 hours. N10 Plus has an enhanced battery of 5200 mAh, allowing it to work in silent mode for up to 300 minutes with automatic recharge and resume. Unfortunately, the charging time is 6.5 hours for such a large capacity. The Deebot N Family is the most affordable Deebot vacuums on the market. There are several models that ECOVACS sells currently in this Family: N8 Pro, N8 Pro+, N10 Plus and OZMO N7. N7, N8 and N8 Pro+ robots are in round shape, with one anti-winding floating roller brush, two side brushes, and one 3-layer HEPA filter. HEPA filters can capture particles up to 6 microns. While N10 Plus is more advanced, it has one floating main brush and rubber brush and the E11 antibacterial filter capturing 95% of 0.3 microns. If you are on a tight budget, these two Chinese models are the best. They offer very cheap and reliable robot vacuums. One thing that makes them similar is that they both have a mopping function. Choosing the best brand between ILIFE and ECOVACS is easy, as Deebot now produces more smart robots on the market.

As I mentioned in this review, Deebot is a budding brand that’s trying to assert its position in the market. But, unfortunately, this means that it faces very stiff competition from the other brands.

Now, we are almost coming to the end of this Deebot comparison review. But just before we finalize, let’s briefly discuss how to shop for the best Deebot robot vacuum. I’m glad Deebot models have the most critical convenience feature; scheduling. But I think the higher models take the crown for allowing homeowners to schedule a cleaning cycle more than once in a single day. It’s a similar issue when mopping – it doesn’t quite get close enough to walls to clean room edges. But everywhere else on a hard floor, the Deebot T9 does an excellent job of mopping up after you. Admittedly it will struggle with caked-in food spills, but its redesigned vibrating mopping plate is more than capable of removing lighter stains off the floor, something the T8 wasn’t able to do. This is the most critical aspect when shopping for a robot vacuum cleaner. But the most important thing to ask yourself is, what model gives you value for money? The mopping function is a bit more impressive. You fill the small tank with just water – you don’t add any cleaning solution, so don’t expect it to deliver a deep clean. Next, slap on one of the provided disposable microfiber cloths.The Deebot T9 Plus is arguably the best Ecovacs has made yet. Like the Deebot T8, it vacuums really well, with plenty of suction power to get entangled hair off carpet fibres. That said, if your carpet floors are particularly messy, we found setting the bot to a double clean usually takes care of it. On a regular basis, it’s the best general cleaning we’ve seen for any of the Deebots we’ve tested. The station of the X1 Turbo model is the auto-cleaning station and is smaller, with the same two water tanks, but without a dust bag, and for pads, cool air is used. The robot can be cleaned there, and the water will be refilled. When you pop open the top of the Auto-Empty Station, you’ll find the preinstalled 2.5-liter dust bag isn’t massive, but should last a month or two. In addition, your first dust bag replacement is provided. Under the station is a large tube into which the dust bin is emptied, adding to the Auto-Empty Station's overall size. Nevertheless, it’s on a par with rival vacuums, and not an eyesore by any means.
