Maybe she only needs a little practice . . . and Annie has the perfect person in mind to be her tutor: Will Griffin. Sarah Adam just blew me completely away. I was expecting this to be good but not THIS good. Amazing and incredible.

So I clamp my mouth shut again. i have to start this with my heart is actually SO fulfilled that we got such insanely good cameos of amelia, noah and all of my favorite people from when in rome. like god bless you sarah for that because i am still so obsessed with Amelia/Noah that i would read about them grocery shopping if she put it out into the world 😂 Practice Makes Perfect is a small town, friends to lovers, fake dating romance that is a fun, cute, tension filled rom-com that had me smiling and giggling throughout. More praise for Sarah Adams' rom-coms, including The Cheat Sheet - the heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance that became a sensation on TikTok - and When in Rome. But finding her dream man may be harder than Annie imagined. Everyone knows everyone in her hometown, and the dating prospects are getting fewer by the day.
Maybe this story would have worked if it had been a YA book, but for a romance book dealing with 30+ adults, it just didn't. the dedication alone is everything: ”this one is for the softies. the tenderhearted sweeties. the introverts who are afraid to shine.” already sobbing 🥹🥹 Annie’s constant use of different names for him and their ability to play off each other was so awesome! honorable mention to how will legit took pictures of her all the time secretively because he thought she was beautiful and deserved to have good pictures of herself😭

The MMC was generic and boring. Being tattooed, ex military, and emotionally unavailable doesn't automatically make him an interesting love interest. And honestly, there's no way in hell this man who is well-traveled and 'super hot', who has dated models around the world and jumped out of airplanes, is going to fall for such a lame FMC. It doesn't make sense. I loved how both of them didn’t force what they wanted onto the other and were encouraging and understanding of one another esp in facing what was ahead for them thus reaching common ground. Their love had so many tropes like strangers to friends to lovers, dating practice and slow-ish burn. Sarah completely understood the assignment. Will can share about his past and Annie can share the feelings she’s kept hidden about hers and how she doesn’t like the mold people have cast her in all of her life.
