To my surprise, I actually preferred the Aberfeldy 12 from the pack, but would reach for Clynelish 14 over this. I agree with others that it is overly sweet, but this would be a positive if you were new to scotch. It opens with a light, heathery, fruity and zesty sets of smells amongst the initial alcoholic burn. Like many of Scotland’s distilleries, ownership changed multiple times, and the distillery was modernized, too.Inoffensive and smooth, not improved with a drop of water, but some pleasant notes of malt and bitter orange.
