About this deal

It turns out she has a penchant for a certain kind of snack and the pair hit it off, albeit awkwardly. It was like watching a car crash victim being scraped up off of the pavement, you don’t want to watch but you just can’t bring yourself to avert your gaze. He manages to lace a layer of pleasure into his reading that really fits the main character almost too well, and that’s definitely what you want with an Audiobook. Despite the protagonist being quite anti-social he tolerates Helen’s presence in his life even coming to enjoy her company. This story is pretty much American Psycho meets Exquisite Corpse if Jughead Jones (angsty CW edition) was the narrator, written by someone who never totally outgrew their middle school edgelord phase.

Now, before I begin, I have to let you all know about the numerous kinds of trigger warnings in this book because it’s bad.if we replaced footballs with babies, i would have been far more successful in high school gym class.

It’s just beyond belief that anything like this could ever happen in real life but honestly, it did its job, freaked me the hell out, and is a book I will never forget. Helen, on the other hand, likes to eat dead babies and as an obstetrician at the maternity ward she is right at the source to her object of desire. It isn’t clear what happened to the protagonist whether he was caught or whether like Helen he worked his way up to murder. Dead Inside” is a very graphic read but, I’m a metalhead, grew up in the 80s/90s watching tons of horror movies and TV shows I probably shouldn’t have been watching at such a young age, and at least for me, this didn’t really bother me as I look at it as just words on paper. The Narration is performed by Daniel Caravetta and at first I found it kind of annoying (sorry Daniel) but then I noticed something about the way he reads this story. That did feel like it was only there to upset people, and whilst it didn’t offend me I also don’t think the story would suffer in any possible way if it wasn’t in there. it's as if Chandler Morrison wanted to tell a love story about two very abnormal people falling in love and finding a special kind of comfort in knowing that they have been seen by someone and accepted for who they are but he found that a little on the boring side so to really explore what that would look like, he made sure these two very abnormal people were abnormal to a ridiculous, obscene amount of abnormal. However, the second he becomes aroused he freaks out and bolts from the house causing some tension between the pair but Helen dispels this by asking him to watch her eat and he agrees.

You know, you go into these gory horror movies seeing insane, gruesome, violent, crazy death traps that each new one introduced is worse than the one before until you get to the final, craziest trap of them all. I made a lot of faces while reading this book and honestly, it totally reminded me of the SAW movie franchise. Now I am going to go take a scalding hot shower to wash away my sins for reading this book and maybe have a salad afterwards. I can't even bring myself to describe it in detail, but it's vile, disgusting, and downright fucked up. They have a conversation while Helen is consuming a dead baby and he tells her that he isn’t going to tell anyone about her activities if she keeps his own a secret and this act forges a bond between the pair.I’m talking about the kind of book that will be stuck with me for a very long time because this is absolutely insane. I spread her legs a little wider and mount her, groaning as I slide myself into the cold dryness of her unlubricated vaginal canal. Thinking out loud, I feel like a 5-star rating is an endorsement that bears responsibility and I don't want to be held responsible for anyone picking this book up because they see my star rating as some kind of approval for books of this nature. Now I’m not going to tell you it’s a difficult read and I’m not going to tell you I threw my guts up because it was so horrendous. Things seem to be going smoothly for this utterly depraved individual until he meets a vile woman even more fucked-up then he is.

Being already familiar with 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧's terrific style, I knew this book would be well written, however, I didn't expect it to have such a deranged dark humor. MC and Helen are bound to be doomed and despite the short intermezzo encompassing their unity and Helen’s efforts, it is clear from the very first page that there are no rose gardens in their future. Gripping the sides of the icy metal table, eyes crawling over her gorgeously ravaged body, I begin to thrust.

A man consumed with the darkest licentiousness aimlessly meanders through life fulfilling his deepest perversions. It is rare that the namelessness of a main character has a meaning, a significance above and beyond giving them a sense of mystery or objectivity. I listened to this one on audible because I just happened to have a spare credit, and if you’re doing that, stick with it because actually that Narrator really does fit the story quite well. I feel bad giving this such a harsh review, but I have to say my piece: the main character is so focused on being as much of an antisocial edgelord as he possibly can be, it overshadows the gruesomeness of the entire plot. We follow two people that find each other despite their gross idiosyncrasies - so at the heart of it, it’s a love story.
