About this deal

In essence, this attachment acts as a tool that turns your TV into a Bluetooth-enabled device whether or not your streaming service generally permits this. When the Era 300 first leaked, rumours abounded that it would replace the Five as Sonos's top-of-the-range smart speaker. That didn't happen – the Five remains Sonos's biggest speaker, and it's still a decent option if spatial audio isn't a deal-breaker. It's loud, detailed and forthright, and of course fits seamlessly into your Sonos set-up. Sonos products can drop from the app if they’re experiencing network or connection issues. Learn how to recover your Play:3 and prevent it from dropping in the future. This is especially handy because you can manage each speaker from the comfort of your sofa cushion. Instead of having to manually adjust your speakers, you can tune them from your phone. The Sonos app combines all your content and settings into one effortless experience. You can also use your voice, Apple AirPlay 2, and more.

There's no Google Assistant, however. Sonos says this is due to a change in the technical requirements for Google Assistant on third-party devices. The company told us in a statement: "We’re evaluating these requirements, but it’s a heavy engineering lift and we’ll continue to prioritize work that builds on our vision of voice assistants all working concurrently. We remain hopeful that Google Assistant will be part of this ecosystem one day, but that’s really up to Google." Sonos speakers connect to the main base (your controller) and are managed through the Sonos App (unless paired directly and controlled through another streaming device). This is incredibly helpful when arranging the best audio output for your home. Anyone who has ever attempted to create their own home theater knows what it is like to have to arrange speakers.Instead of having to plug each speaker into the next one and running multiple cables throughout your audio streaming area, you can simply connect them over Wi-Fi and omit the jumble of cords. The recently discontinued Play:3 is the oldest speaker in the Sonos portfolio but we don't need to tell you that. Take one look at the Sonos line up and you'd know it - the design is nowhere near as refined as the newer products.

Multiple Sonos speakers are connected to one another via Wi-Fi, so they do not require a cabled connection between the speaker system. Then, the TV and the Sonos speakers will pair wirelessly through the connection of Bluetooth offered through the streaming service and the speaker. To connect your Sonos to your TV wirelessly, you have a few options. You can connect the speaker to the TV via Bluetooth (on Bluetooth-enabled speakers and TVs), use the Sonos App to connect the system but plug in the main soundbar, or use an APTX BT transmitter as an audio receiver that plugs into the TV without needing a wired connection to your speakers. This software measures the acoustics of the room then fine-tunes the speaker. Supported iOS device required. Everything works seamlessly together over WiFi. Start with one room and simply add more when you're ready.

From here, you just need to hardwire one of your Sonos speakers to your computer via its aux port. If you have two of the same speakers — like two Era 100s — you'll want to first create a stereo pair ( see steps above) and then hardwired one of those speakers into your computer; they will stay stereo paired when you designate one as your computer's default speaker.
