About this deal

As is often the case in long zooms, the barrel quickly shifts to pincushion as you zoom out, reaching 0.

The new Wacom One 12 pen display, now in its second generation, offers photographers an affordable option to the mouse or trackpad, making processing images easy and efficient by editing directly on the screen. If you decide the irresistible focal length range is what you want, your next decision is - which is the best super zoom lens, overall? Before I start, I wish to highlight that this is a lengthy sharing session of my personal experience with this lens but not too much on the technical specifications. The company offers not only an 18-200mm optic, but has also pushed the limits of superzoom lenses further with an 18-250mm and, in 2008, created the first 18-270mm version. From Tamron lens literature) A lightweight, compact and ultra high power zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with APS-C sized imager sensors.Controls on the lens are simple and I appreciate the zoom lock the lens will drop forward without the lock if carried with the lens pointing at the ground. DC follows suit, but the Tamron 18-250 edges it out for wide-open center sharpness across most of their shared focal length range. I have quite a fair amount of missed shots for night so I suggest it is better to get a prime lens for night. Fast continuous shooting, reliable autofocus and great battery life are just three of the most important factors. At 270mm, the entire image is soft wide open and especially soft in the mid and corner areas of the frame.

Of course, the image quality is not comparable to prime lenses but not too far behind from the shorter zoom ratio lenses. Family moments are precious and sometimes you want to capture that time spent with loved ones or friends in better quality than your phone can manage.I pushed the lens in a couple of case to four stops and it simply did not perform in creating sharp images, such as knowing I had a good shot at 1/100 and 50mm without VC and then taking the shutter speed down to 1/6 to see what would happen. You can definitely tell that it has a plastic rather than a metal body, but it always felt very solid when working with it. Besides, if the photographer wants to do a simple product shoot with budget studio lights, this lens is capable of it too. We made adjustments such as adding more light to increase the shutter speed, used a self timer, used a remote release and activated the mirror lock up on the Canon EOS 60D we tested the lens with.

The good thing about its bokeh is that it still produces smooth and nice fall-off, and it does not give harsh and disturbing background blur. As expected for a modern superzoom, the Canon and Nikon mount versions of the lens feature built-in optical image stabilization via Tamron's 'Vibration Control' system, which promises sharper hand held images at slow shutter speeds. Special thanks to Cles Distribution of Tamron Singapore for giving me the opportunity to loan the Tamron 18-300mm F3. This lens is the superzoom of choice if you want maximum telephoto reach – and it performs rather well, considering its massive 22x zoom range. The new zoom lens will satisfy the expectations of photographers that are used to the 300mm tele-end of Tamron's AF 28-300mm Di (Model A061) when used on a digital SLR camera.
