Before I start, I wish to highlight that this is a lengthy sharing session of my personal experience with this lens but not too much on the technical specifications. You can definitely tell that it has a plastic rather than a metal body, but it always felt very solid when working with it. Besides, if the photographer wants to do a simple product shoot with budget studio lights, this lens is capable of it too. We made adjustments such as adding more light to increase the shutter speed, used a self timer, used a remote release and activated the mirror lock up on the Canon EOS 60D we tested the lens with.
The good thing about its bokeh is that it still produces smooth and nice fall-off, and it does not give harsh and disturbing background blur. As expected for a modern superzoom, the Canon and Nikon mount versions of the lens feature built-in optical image stabilization via Tamron's 'Vibration Control' system, which promises sharper hand held images at slow shutter speeds.
