About this deal

Each of the five members of our professional listening panel, who have a range of ages and ear sizes, gives a rating for how comfortable they find the headphones to wear, and we take an average. And even if you have weirdly shaped ears, the various sized ear tips included in the package should give you the fit you’re looking for. First thing, the CX 300's bass went as deep as the ER-6i's, but the vocals and guitars on Ryan Adams's mostly acoustic new CD, 29, were noticeably less "canned" and hollow-sounding on the ER-6i.

As is so often the case with headphones that have a forced bass-heaviness, the problem is often that the bass can kick in too suddenly. It doesn't take a genius to calculate the CX 300-IIs offer sensational value; they're a simple and extremely effective upgrade. Available in seven classic colour-ways, there's a design for everyone ranging from classic black to chrome, gold, red, pink, silver and white.

For those looking for a high-performance pair of earphones within budget, these are certainly worth considering. We made our durability test for wireless headphones more rigorous from May 2018, so the star ratings for wireless headphones from then onwards aren't comparable to wireless headphones tested before. Before the older model i found a little harsh on highs and boomier bass and the new model fills out the mids a little more too. muted design: they come in a choice of black, white or red, the cable is clean of any mic or volume control (though that does mean they weigh only 12g) and, but for modest logos on each ear piece, the brand is largely anonymous.

metre long cable means there's enough freedom of movement if you're listening to audio through a desktop or laptop, while a tangle-free cord and L-shaped jack makes these very convenient for listening on the go. I bought these today, Very stylish and comes with a Cute little pouch (look in the back of the box, as some of you may get rid of the box and the travel pouch).

Cable noise is only a minor issue so most of the time you can enjoy what is essentially a balanced overall sound, only lacking some detail and clipped somewhat at the top end.

The cable itself is slightly flattened to reduce tangles, which it seems to do quite well, and although it’s far from kink-free out of the box, it does hang reasonably straight. They listen to nine recordings for each pair of headphones, which cover a wide range of music and radio genres, giving a rating per recording and an overall verdict (not an average). Due to the perfect fit and lightweight nature of these earphones, we found we could wear them almost indefinitely. The earphones themselves feel lightweight but solid, with an air of durability that reminds me of the long-reigning Sennheiser HD1 In-ear. They're lightweight, have in-line controls, and Sennheiser claims they offer 'amazingly detailed sound reproduction and enhanced bass response'. I have a quite old pair of Sennheiser earphones which are fabulous, but they don’t have a microphone, so I thought I would get a couple of pairs of Sennheiser CX 300S earphones.
