About this deal

Players solve puzzles to find the maniacal mascot, who then pops out of vents and chases them around. Scenes from the video game have popped up on YouTube and social media — and young children have reportedly been watching, according to reports from police. Huggy Wuggy was first created by Playtime CO. in 1984 as a toy for children. He soon became the most successful product of the company, which caused Playtime to create Experiment 1170: a living, gigantic monstrous version of Huggy as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, out of an orphaned child. Huggy Wuggy, otherwise known as Experiment-1170, is a toy produced by Playtime Co., who makes his titular debut in Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze. As stated by Playtime Co., Huggy is one of their most successful products. In Log 08502, Huggy was briefly mentioned as Experiment 1170, and was dubbed the most optimal subject, as he possesses the ideal amount of intelligence and is obedient to the scientists working at the company.

Enhanced Strength: As a gigantic mutant toy, Huggy Wuggy possesses feats of super strength. He can lift heavy objects, smash through metal and easily kill his opponents. His monster counterpart remains largely the same, with the exception of his eyes being dilated bigger than intended, giving off a deranged and disturbing physique. Behind his lips is a maw of dozens of jagged needle-like teeth. Closer observation of Huggy's mouth shows a secondary set of jaws located by his throat, akin to that of a Moray Eel. While we did locate some tutorials on YouTube Kids that showed how to draw the Huggy Wuggy character, we did not see any of the "very distressing" videos mentioned by the lone police report. It's entirely possible that some parents saw the Huggy Wuggy drawing tutorials on YouTube Kids and wrongly believed, without evidence, that that meant the "very distressing" videos in question were also available on the platform. (YouTube Kids is designed for children under the age of 12. Meanwhile, TikTok has a "Teen" setting as well as a "TikTok for Younger Users experience" for children under age 13.)

Due to Huggy Wuggy falling off the catwalk, it is unknown whether or not he survived, and thus if he will return in future chapters of the game. However, it's widely believed he'll return due to being the main mascot of both the game and the in-game company Playtime Co, as well as appearing heavily in the marketing for the game stated by mashoor.

Playtime Co. has created hundreds of distinct toys, but none connected to people more than that of Huggy Wuggy. Our founder, Elliot Ludwig, aimed to create a toy which could hug you forever! As is always true, Playtime Co.’s ‘4-Step process to creating the most lifelike toys,’ was a success!” Dorset Police have shared a warning following reports that Year 1 pupils have been exposed to the terrifying clips, which sees the creature singing about "hugging and killing" and asking viewers to "take their last breath." The worrying trend has been branded the online equivalent of the "Killer Clown" craze, which swept across Britain several years ago. Huggy Wuggy has often been compared to the Ink Demon from Bendy and the Ink Machine due to both games having a similar plot.

Rather than warning children about specific dangers such as Momo or Huggy Wuggy, parents and professionals can better help children by teaching them good practices online. There are many videos of Huggy Wuggy on YouTube kids but this isn’t one of them. I personally don’t believe those videos should be there as they actually are being served to kids and include this horror game character but I have no control over what others do. This is the only content I have control over and I have already made sure it’s not on YouTube kids. Further, the article appeared to claim that the game was available to be played on YouTube. This was misleading. YouTube is a video platform, not a video game platform.

On November 18th, 2021, YouTuber [4] TryHardNinja uploaded a video featuring a song titled "HUGGY WUGGY SONG 'Free Hugs'" that included references to both Poppy Playtime and Huggy Wuggy. In roughly one year, the video received over 10 million views and 104,000 likes (shown below). Enhanced Durability: Huggy Wuggy's body can withstand damage that would easily kill humans. When he fell from the catwalk, he bled from the impact, but he survived the fall. With this in mind, I wondered if the warnings from schools had come as a surprise? “The vast majority of the controversy we are seeing regarding warnings from schools about the Huggy Wuggy character are completely untrue and/or grossly exaggerated. One of the things we've read online is that Huggy Wuggy whispers creepy things into one's ear while playing, but anyone who has actually played Poppy Playtime would know that Huggy Wuggy does not even have a voice in Chapter 1, so it's impossible for him to have whispered anything.” In the Monster Tutorial for Project: Playtime, it is divulged that Huggy Wuggy plays a vital role as one of the selected toys assigned by The Prototype to provide sustenance to the smaller, more vulnerable experiments such as the Wuggies. These unfortunate creatures are fed with the remains of the Resource Extraction Specialists, employees hired by Leith Pierre, who have been sent into the monster-infested factory and its attractions in an ill-fated attempt to revive the Bigger Bodies Initiative. In Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze, Huggy strictly adheres to the objectives given by The Prototype. His task is to surveil and protect the Playtime Co. Factory, alerting others to the presence of any new intruders. Huggy takes a stealthy approach, stealthily stalking the player until finally confronting them with a lethal embrace. If you had fun and would like to keep up-to-update on the mod, make sure to support mod creators on their social media by subscribing, following, liking, etc. This leads to a muddled response to actual concerns children have. Banning a child from a game they are enjoying because of a related video makes it much less likely for them to talk to parents if something genuinely upsetting happens online. As far as we are aware, all of these warnings from schools are originating from fan made content based off of our game, but if you want my personal opinion, I do not think that any of these videos should be cause for concern, and we appreciate all the hard work and dedication our fans are put toward creating content inspired off of Poppy Playtime.”

This is evident by the fact that some writings say "Starving" and "I'm so hungry." Further proven by the fact that he seems to eat you when you die. Superhuman Flexibility: Huggy's body is far more malleable than normal individuals allowing him to easily maneuver the air vents to chase the player. This however can be proven as false, as three different entities can be depicted talking to us throughout the Vent Chase via the conveyor walls. Huggy Wuggy's use in fan animations happened as soon as the game launched, with many Let's Play YouTubers using his jumpscare as the thumbnail in their videos, increasing awareness of him. On October 24th, 2021, the YouTube channel Elena [2] uploaded an original animation called "I Wanna Live Meme" in which the creature Huggy Wuggy says they don't want to die while hanging onto the bar of the walkway, earning 1 million views in two months (shown below). Huggy Wuggy is a character in a puzzle game which sees players attempt to escape their stalking villain in a toy factory. The game is available on platforms such as YouTube and Roblox and contains disturbing content that is unfiltered due to there being no age rating. Around late March and early April 2022, reported "moral panic" emerged online surrounding Huggy Wuggy purportedly being shown to children on YouTube Kids and on TikTok. According to outlets like Rolling Stone, [5] which published an article on the topic on April 9th, "… reports suggest that children are watching videos featuring Huggy Wuggy – which include songs about him hugging people 'until you breathe your last breath' – and getting not-so-good ideas. Such videos are reportedly prompting children to reenact those videos on the playground by hugging each other extremely tightly and whispering the gruesome lyrics to each other."
