If you could post the link to the discussion where Paizo said that they were not planning on releasing older AP Pawn sets that would be greatly appreciated. If nothing else, the collection is a nice supplement to the pawns presented in the Bestiary pawn collections--it's always helpful to have more tokens of common monsters for larger encounters. But the real value of this particular pawn box is when a GM has a major story arc (or even campaign) that focuses on a particular race of monsters. You don't need ten different variations of an orc if it's just a random wilderness encounter, but if you have PCs invading an orc stronghold, being able to differentiate between "common" orcs, "Orc Sergeants", "Orc Witch Doctors", and the "Orc Warlord" adds a lot to the battlemap. I got this box because I'm running the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, and I've been able to make great use of the varieties of Ghouls, Goblins, and Ogres included in the box. The player characters of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and Advanced Player's Guide come to life on your tabletop! Each has its own abbreviation and identification number for easy sorting. The Pathfinder Player Character Pawn Collection includes: Ancestry/Class combinations Finally, there's a collection of about twenty-five animal companions. Animals aren't really what one thinks about when it comes to NPCs, but it's really handy to have tokens for cats, dogs, horses, birds, camels, and more exotic things like constrictor snakes and even dinosaurs. I'm not a fan of the "pet" classes, but when people at my table do play them, it's good that they can find the token they need. First, for those of you wondering if there is new artwork, the answer to that is yes. I'll get to that in a moment. If you're familiar with the Monster Codex book, you'll be happy to know that ALL of the artwork from the book is included.

Paizo announced the end of the Pathfinder (and Starfinder) Pawns lines in July 2022. 1 Releases Cover DON'T MIND, DON'T CARE IF OUT - Left out is okay for me, in is also okay for me I find use for them. For Game Masters on a budget, this is the perfect starter set from which your players can choose the perfect pawn to represent their PC. When I opened this set, I immediately pulled out close to twenty pawns that will serve as NPCs for my current campaign. When passed around to new players, they all found the perfect pawn for their character right from this set.Medium Generic contains 20 round 1" in diameter, for use with Small and Medium Pathfinder Pawns. These bases are generic bases and as such the Pathfinder logo is NOT imprinted on the bottom of the bases but are still compatible with our Pathfinder Pawn sets. What this means is that most of the art from those three boxes should be featured in the pawn collection. Moreover, Paizo included in this collection a few NPCs from the NPC Codex that have nothing to do with PFS (Darago, Meliski, Radillo, etc.) That's another 10 or so more pawns that I personally find unappealing for a PFS set. Now for the new art (which was the part that surprised me), Paizo included some additional characters in this book from previous books.

It’s short on obvious specific cultists though, so if you need to run through the head church of Zon-Kuthon, this will not be enough. Unless you want to go on these with a magnifying glass, there is no point in heavily distinguishing the races. You may have a hard time telling apart the halflings from the gnomes, but I didn’t care and just lobed them into one bag. It may even be possible to bevel the edges inward so that you can "clip" in the bases though I don't think this is vital. Maybe that's okay, and it will lead to some increased sales from other folks? I don't know. I can only speak for us. It's just very very very bad for us.I know that paizo has to wait for all the artwork to be ready before printing this but that should be the case for some months. This really bothers me as well.
