About this deal

Outside of Oviedo's historic center are three UNESCO-listed pre-Romanesque churches (built in the 9th and 10th centuries): the Iglesia de Santa Maria del Naranco, the Iglesia de San Miguel de Lillo, and the Iglesia de San Julián de los Prados. To really get away from everything and spend quality time together, there are plenty of pretty fishing villages all over northern Spain. Previously mentioned Cudillero, Lastres, Sanxenxo,Cadaqués and Calella de Palafrugell are all ideal romantic destinations withmany beautiful beaches. Holidays For Foodies In Northern Spain So if you want to plunge into a medieval fairy tale, walk along narrow cobblestone streets, pop into artisan shops, try fresh natural products and famous local cheeses, then definitely choose to visit Santillana del Mar. The oceanic climate, that extends from the coast of Galicia to the Pyrenees is mild in winter and relatively warm in summer. Although the temperature does not vary much from season to season as in southern Spain.

The Picos de Europa Natural Park delights visitors with its awe-inspiring scenery and refreshing mountain air. The Picos de Europa are the Cantabrian Mountains' highest peaks, and the 646-square-kilometer natural park covers terrain in the Asturias, Cantabria, and León provinces. Also, Pamplona is the first city on the Spanish Pilgrim Road. Here you can see many parks, historical monuments, and other fascinating sights. San Sebastian The Costa Brava inCatalonia offers many destinations for a beach holiday in northern Spain. Long child-friendly beaches, beautiful small bays with cliffs and postcard-like villages are just waiting to be explored. Rent a holiday home in Cadaqués and have this breathtaking village as a base for your holiday. Choose a villa in Calella de Palafrugellas another great option for a beach holiday on the Costa Brava. White-washed houses, blue window frames and balconies adorned with flowerscharacterise this town - Calella de Palafrugell looks as if it was taken directly from a travel magazine. Surprisingly, because of the Gulf Stream, the climate in northern Spain is much more temperate than many can expect from a land of this latitude. This part has a maritime climate, with cooler (but still pleasant) summers and mild winters. July and August are the driest months, although rains are not uncommon. This photo went through minimum editing. It just gets so bright and green in northern SpainThere is a subway in the city that reduces traffic jams and makes the city even more comfortable. Pamplona La Rioja is a gorgeous region in Northern Spain, prized for its idyllic scenery of vine-covered rolling hills and lush oak forests. The region also has a rich cultural heritage, linked with the medieval Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The magicalcity of Oviedo is one of the most beautiful cities in Asturias. It is also a "food destination" that also offers many cultural treasures. "It's like it doesn't belong to this world, as if it didn't exist... Oviedo is like a fairytale" expressed Woody Allen after shooting one of his filmsin the city. In the Old Town, you will find the best food, relax on one of the terraces or visit a typical cider house. Apple cider is the region's pride, and Asturias accounts for 80% ofits national production. On day 1 towards Santiago de Compostella, I recommend you make a stop in Ourense (it will be on the way) – a city famous for hot springs right on the edge of the river. It also has a historic center, interesting churches and bridges, but the main thing here is thermal water. You can soak in Caldas de Outariz hot springs and to reach them, go along the Thermal Walk which runs along the right bank of the Miño River. Rent a holiday home in Hondarribiaif you want toindulge during yourholiday to northern Spain. A wall encloses the Old Town which isfull of traditional Basque style houses withwooden painted balconies, restaurants and bars. The area surrounding theharbour has the best selection of seafood. In the Old City of Bilbao, particularly around Plaza Nueva, the pintxos bars are located next to each other and are among the best places for foodies. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Txakoli vineyards which are dotted in the rolling hills next to the Bay of Biscay. Txakoli is a Basquewhite wine which compliments pintxos perfectly.

Spring and fall have similar temperatures, always around 20°C, so this may be the best season for excursions, visits to national parks and farms, hiking and city tours.

Escape to a Random Place

The town is ensconced along the Bahía de la Concha, a crescent-shaped bay that encloses a sheltered sandy beach, called La Perla. A spacious pedestrian promenade invites seaside strolls, while many shops and restaurants are found on the Alameda del Boulevard just steps away from the beach. For a long time, I wanted to visit the northern coast of Spain. I know, a lot of people prefer the southern region with its Moorish sights, flamenco, stunning beaches, whitewashed villages, milder winters, and fiestas.
