About this deal

The recognisable glass-bottom grinder is the older larger brother of the mini-mill and one of the selling points of the Hario Skerton coffee grinder is the large 100g capacity of coffee, which is great for folks brewing more than one cup. It’s good practice to run warm water over the burrs and remove any excess coffee grounds with a soft brush. Doing this regularly will ensure your coffee remains fresh and tastes perfect every time. Value For Money The burr set is relatively small and dull, so you’d have to do a lot of work. The handle is also on the shorter side, which doesn’t help with leverage. Thanks to excellent ceramic burrs and the spring mechanism which aids stability, the Porlex Mini has excellent grounds consistency. This consistency is maintained through most of its grinding range.

One of the most common complaints I hear from other coffee lovers is that their electric grinder is broken and needs repair. That’s not fun at all. So it’s worth finding a sturdy grinder you can rely on. If you can’t afford the 1Zpresso Jx or have small hands and want something lighter, go with the C2 instead. But you’ve probably already heard all the hype about these grinders – you just want to know which size is best. Like the other models from the brand, The Q2 has an aluminum unibody with no room for misalignment, while the shaft and burrs are made of stainless steel. The grinder is also the smallest we’ve seen to this point. Since it’s designed with travel in mind, that’s not entirely a bad thing. However, it does raise value concerns. Though it performs virtually identically to the last hand grinder we saw, this unit produces less volume at a significantly higher price. It’s rare to find grinders that are this good for both pour over and espresso. In fact, I think you’ll have to consider the semi-professional electric flat burr grinders before you find something that can rival K-Max as a multipurpose grinder. Also, the diameter of the C2 isn’t as wide as the Comandante C40 or 1Zpresso Jx. Again, this makes for a comfy ride.

Manual grinders, in general, are very durable. Of course, it depends on each model, but as long as they are made of materials such as strong plastic (like the Hario Mini) or steel (such as the Porlex), you don’t have much to worry about. The JavaPresse Manual Coffee Grinder can be a great option for users who do most of their brewing with the AeroPress. This is largely because the grinder actually fits within the AeroPress tube, making it super portable and great for traveling.

The Comandante C40 has a similar design to some of the other top models in this category. It’s got conical steel burrs and an axle that is fixed on ball bearings. The handle is ergonomically shaped, which makes it nice to hold and turn.
