About this deal

These MT3608 modules are incredibly cheap (I even have some in my parts drawer) and if those inductors were so hard to get then for sure these modules would not be that cheap. MT3608 step up booster converter module is a small sized highly efficient and low cost module is built for converting or boosting the voltage as low as 2V to max 28V DC with the maximum output current of 2 ampere.

Using MT3608 module is very simple by looking at the pinout described in the image above you can connect an input voltage from 2V to 24V DC. I just don’t get people who complain that they want video content to be fast and cheap/free to cater to their needs. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page.Chances are that an inductor in the same package with the same value will work, but you really want to double check the specifications. I suppose if you wanted it “off” you’d add a switch to the input, rather than power it down, but I wonder how many applications would idle at the input voltage (minus the schottky diode drop), but require a higher voltage to run? Your time isn’t so important that it trumps a video creator’s need to get compensated for the time and effort they put into a video.

Explicitly said: the current regulation network will see a lowered voltage because of your added resistor and will increase the output to compensate for the voltage drop caused by it.This is a Multiple Output Power Supply Module/Adapter/Driver Module which uses the LM2596 regulator. Others reading these posts can't use that information for their own procurement problems because it is very specific to this part. It would have been nice to have a picture of the schematic embedded within the article, that makes discussing it much easier. A better circuit would use a smaller threshold and add a diode to limit the voltage drop across the resistor. I get the knee jerk response, I hate long ads in videos too, but ultimately I understand why creators need them and I’d rather creators keep making videos than not.

It would not be wise to change the inductor without fully understanding the effect it will have on stability (or fully testing it after making the change). After connecting the input voltage take a digital multimeter and select above 28V from the digital multimeter voltage selection panel and connect the digital multimeter from the output voltage points of the module then adjust the variable resistor until the multimeter shows your desired output voltage.
