About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. What he didn’t expect is to have a journey, an internal one, when he has the environment to think through his life and what he really cares about in life. If this is, indeed, the last Nick Stone book, the author has rewarded his readers with a very tepid end.

Inevitably, it soon transpires that there is more going on than initially meets the eye, and he becomes reluctantly drawn into in a potential cyber attack on the West, all the while battling his own failing health which is gradually ticking down. honestly, it is a book full of blablabla, some old pals which resemble his last sort of family, NO mentioning of any of his former life or adventures, NO considerable action, no nothing, if it is not the last nick stone novel (as promised within the book), it definitely will be the lasts for me. McNab's subsequent thrillers, Crisis Four, Firewall, Last Light , Liberation Day , Dark Winter , Deep Black and Aggressor have all gone on to sell equally well. having read mcnab's non-fiction books as well as the entire nick stone series more than twice, this latest novel is a new low in a considerable line of lacking suspense, credibility or anything else that could make a book worthwhile to read. But there are deadly complications—not least that Nick soon discovers himself at the heart of a chilling cyber conspiracy that threatens war with Russia and the very existence of the Western alliance. It’s almost like he’s had a reset over the last two or three books and events from before that are irrelevant. McNab is the author of seven fast action thrillers, highly acclaimed for their authenticity and all Sunday Times bestsellers. Awarded both the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) and Military Medal (MM) during his military career, McNab was the British Army's most highly decorated serving soldier when he finally left the SAS in February 1993. During the Gulf War he commanded Bravo Two Zero, a patrol that, in the words of his commanding officer, 'will remain in regimental history for ever'. Being someone who has read and listened to all the previous books in this series, I am more than disappointed with this effort.

The BBC's film of Bravo Two Zero, starring Sean Bean, was shown on primetime BBC 1 television in 1999 and released on DVD in 2000. Having read all of the Nick Stone series from Andy McNab this novel gives a suitable end to that series but still leaves an opening for another Nick Stone novel to be created. Having read all the previous books, some more than once, I am not sure I will read the next if it happens. The story just never seemed to get going , the plot was weak and predictable with long passages of dialogue and very little action. But there are deadly complications - not least that Nick soon discovers himself at the heart of a chilling cyber conspiracy that threatens war with Russia and the very existence of the Western alliance . In 1984 he was 'badged' as a member of 22 SAS Regiment and was involved in both covert and overt special operations worldwide. Some good action and supense, and narrator Paul Thornley is always so convincing as the voice of Nick Stone, in fact Mr McNab should also sound like Mr Thornley! Andy McNab clearly wants to move on from Stone and focus on his new Shadow State series (I’ve read the first one, it’s not great) and his interest in the cyber world. As well as several non-fiction bestsellers including Bravo Two Zero , the biggest selling British work of military history, he is the author of the best-selling Nick Stone and Tom Buckingham thrillers.A Serving of Crime with a Difference - You May Just Discover Something Unique, Different, or Unusual in These 20 Crime Novels. The Chalke History Festival announces a new name, new look, and tons for history buffs to get their teeth into!

This is the final novel in the long running Nick Stone series which began way back in 1998 and drew heavily on the author’s own knowledge and experience of Special Forces soldiering. We do get more a peek into his thought processes, and a decent fistful of the major mistakes, brutal action, and excessive personal damage that are the namesake protagonist's trademark. and that following a shocking diagnosis his body is failing him fast, and any day now he will have to ask himself the ultimate question. I'm left wondering if AM had a book contract to fulfil as its the last in the series and this was him getting back at the publishers.

In Northern Ireland he spent two years working as an undercover operator with 14th Intelligence Group, going on to become an instructor. From the day he was found in a carrier bag on the steps of Guy's Hospital in London, Andy McNab has led an extraordinary life. Let’s face it, f you’re going to read this sort of book, all the better that it has the authenticity of being written by someone who’s actually been there and done it. Its the last in the Nick Stone series and AM has written it like that too, almost as if he couldnt be bothered to think up a decent enough plot line to pension Nick off.
