About this deal

Tomo did an amazing job of fine tuning the panels on this character, to keep the remaining vehicle parts as unobtrusive as possible. On top of that, it’s the most poseable, well-sculpted, and well-painted robot mode I’ve ever seen Hot Rod receive, and the boatload of extra accessories adds a premium feel to the whole thing.

Other international exclusive venues include Asda in the United Kingdom; Otto Simon and its subsidiary Top1Toys in the Netherlands; Bodega Aurrera in Mexico; Prisma in Finland; Dráčik in Slovakia and the Czech Republic; and ICA Hemma in Sweden. Hot Rod gets a proper figure and vehicle representation by way of his primary vehicle mode for the film, a licensed 2017 Lamborghini Centenario. Not wrong but I wouldn't expect an early sample to have the same plastic as the final product as it's still in testing phase. This is most likely due to the line being an official collaboration between Hasbro and TakaraTomy, much like the Masterpiece Movie Series line.

Care should be taken when putting the visor back into their head, though, as, if you flip it too far back, it’ll knock up against the helmet when closing it, preventing it from shutting fully. In fact, they’re almost the exact same height as the G1 and Legends figures, maybe a hair shorter at the head, and a bit taller at the spoiler.

This Studio Series 91 Leader Class Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen-inspired The Fallen figure converts from robot to Cybertronian spacecraft mode in 17 steps. Due to the placement of the core's hole, Hot Rod had his port sticking out from his left knee, which makes it glaring in robot mode, but more convincing as a "jet booster" in vehicle mode. Speaking of vehicle shells, the "backpack" also blocks the tab hole for display stands unless it's slightly lifted up. Like with previous movie-based lines, Studio Series also assigned code names to at least some of its characters.Incomplete rear end in alt mode, hollow plastic syndrome on butt plate (nitpick), and not true Voyager size. Strangely, unlike the case with Bumblebee, this does not appear to be a consequence of using Josh Nizzi's original concept art (at right), which depicts Hot Rod using distinctive vehicle parts from an M4 Sherman tank. The available ports in robot mode are on his forearm exhaust pipes, calves, and under the feet (not shown). The peghole that their buzzsaw fits on can serve as a mounting point, and there’s connection points on the backs of their legs, and bottom of their feet.
