About this deal

Ant and Dec hold a special place in the hearts of TV viewers everywhere. This is their epic story, with never-before-seen photography and the very best tales from their 30 years in TV. It is interesting to hear how they both have developed and changed individually over the years. But despite the success, they remain humble and I think that's what made me admire them more.

I wouldn't mind so much it there weren't chapters devoted to vague themes such as awards ceremonies and the royals so it's not like they didn't have the space. As NSPCC Ambassadors for Childhood, we wanted to show our support for this fantastic charity and their vital work.” I only buy biographies and I can honestly say this is the best one I’ve listened to so far and I’ve bought over 30. I read their first book when I was at a point in my life when I could actually focus and read a physical book, What A Lovely Pair, for all I read it I could hear the boys speaking, it was my favourite book for many years.

Ant said: “Every child deserves a happy childhood – and the NSPCC rely on fundraising to ensure they can continue to be here for children and families. I was binge-watching Chatty Man, Graham Norton show, Friday night with Jonathan Ross and yes, BGT (don't ask, I'm just really in the brit-show phase right now), and I was drawn to these people who are always making people laugh; David Walliams and Ant&Dec most especially. I think I've watched all the interviews with them on youtube and I bought and finished Camp David last week (I'm still thinking if I'll do a review on that one, it's just so sad).

It didn't disappoint. It was so fun I stayed on my bed the whole day to focus on listening/reading. I could've finished it earlier but I have to stop a lot of times and watch the clips they're talking about, and sometimes, I have to watch it like 2-3 times because it's that good. My favorite part was when they confronted Simon Cowell about how unhappy they were at one point doing Britain’s Got Talent and I very much agreed with their thoughts, and glad SC felt the same and did something to change it, just shows how good these two that SC is willing to change something in the show so he won't lose them. In this chapter Ant and Dec talk about meeting various members of the British Royal Family at various moments in their career, and particularly HRH Prince Charles. Ant and Dec first met HRH Prince Charles in 2001, where they interviewed him about the 25th anniversary of ‘The Prince’s Trust’. Other memorable times Ant and Dec have met members of the British Royal Family are in 2006, 2015 (for The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations), and in 2017 (when Ant and Dec received their OBEs). From their modest beginnings in Byker Grove through to their 'unique' time as pop stars and an award-laden TV career, those three decades have flown by in the blink of an eye. They've also featured an incredible cast of supporting characters, including their first scriptwriter - (an unknown comedian called David Walliams), Saturday night fun and games with countless Hollywood A-listers and celebrities they torture - sorry, work with - every year in the jungle. Told through the lens of every TV show they've made, as well as everything they've learnt along the way, this is the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things. Don't get me wrong, it's mildly entertaining but you won't learn much - it's like an evening with Ant and Dec, where they wheel out plenty of tried and true anecdotes you probably have heard before if you're a longtime fan - especially if you read their 2009 autobiography.

Check out Ant and Dec's complete career timeline:

This was a programme I, personally, watched for a few years and I remember Ant and Dec in the show, before they left the show and became popstars. Oh wow.. I never thought I'll be giving a 5-star rating to a memoir. Don't get me wrong, I like reading autobiographies of interesting people but most of the time, it was always an exaggeration of the things that happened in their lives, not to mention, it was always written by someone else.

This audiobook is just brilliant, the PDF photo book to accompany the storytelling is a wonderful touch and the nice surprising at the end of them reading this superbly written book is what really made me laugh. In 2002, Ant and Dec devised a Saturday night television show that would have features like ‘Win the Ads’, ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Outa Me Ear!’ and ‘Little Ant and Dec’, who interviewed celebrities. The show first ran from 2002 to 2009, when Ant and Dec thought they would ‘rest’ the show and do other things. Byker Grove is a town in Newcastle, in the North East of England. The TV programme was based in a youth club in the town of the same name, which captured the moments of teenage lives. Dec had been in the children’s TV series Byker Grove for a year before Ant joined. Dec: and as another Chinese proverb says, 'If you've been in a double act with your best mate for 30 years, why not write a book about all your most memorable moments in three decades of showbusiness?' Using their Byker Grove character names, Ant and Dec became PJ and Duncan — the popstars. They were approached to ask to sing and become popstars by Telstar. All of Ant and Dec’s author proceeds from the book will be donated to the NSPCC to support their lifechanging work protecting children. In the first Pop Idol series, Will Young won and Gareth Gates was second. In the second, and final, series Michelle McManus won. As time went on filming Byker Grove, both Ant and Dec became fascinated with how the production of a TV series actually worked. Finding out about the different aspects of TV production, while starring in Byker Grove, helped them with their future success.

At first, Ant and Dec didn’t have many scenes together, so they didn’t get to know each other. However, that changed later in the year of 1990. They found they got more scenes together and found they had things in common, like Newcastle football club, and hanging out at shopping centres and attending gigs. I found Ant and Dec’s autobiography called ‘Ant and Dec — Once Upon A Tyne — Our Story Celebrating 30 Years Together On Telly’ a really good read. I’ve effectively ‘grown up’ with Ant and Dec, from watching them act on TV in their ‘Byker Grove’ days, through to their TV presenting on various shows to this day. I recommend this book as it tells about the unique story of a couple of lads from Newcastle, UK who became best friends and business partners, and about their unique friendship. Ant and Dec came together to create a new show about their ancestors and to find out where they both came from. The programme was made over two years and Ant and Dec journeyed to places such as Ireland and United States of America. The most amazing part of their DNA journey was that they actually found out that they were in fact distant relations of each other! And as another Chinese proverb says, 'If you've been in a double act with your best mate for thirty years, why not write a book about all your most memorable moments in three decades of showbusiness?' In December 2001 Ant and Dec decided to leave ‘SMTV: Live’ and ‘CD:UK’ for pastures new — Saturday Night TV. After being out for lunch yesterday, I was feeling shattered (I have ME and Fibromyalgia) so today I decide to spend the day in bed with Ant & Dec. I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ Has been on ITV in Britain every year since it started in 2002, and a couple of years had two series per year, namely two series in 2004.
