About this deal

In healthy subjects, plasma distribution half-lives of loratadine and its active metabolite are approximately 1 and 2 hours, respectively. Clarityn Syrup provides up to 24 hours of relief from hay fever and other allergies. Clarityn Syrup can relieve a variety of allergies like those caused by pets and dust, as well as hay fever and skin allergies like rashes, itching, and hives. Each 5ml of syrup contains 5mg of loratadine. How does Clarityn Syrup work? Patients with severe liver impairment should be administered a lower initial dose because they may have reduced clearance of loratadine. An initial dose of 10mg every other day is recommended for adults and children weighing more than 30kg and for children weighing 30kg or less, 5ml (5mg) every other day is recommended.

During long-term treatment there were no clinically significant changes in vital signs, laboratory test values, physical examinations or electrocardiograms. Approximately 200 paediatric subjects (6 to 12 years of age) with seasonal allergic rhinitis received doses of loratadine syrup up to 10 mg once daily in controlled clinical trials. In another study, 60 paediatric subjects (2 to 5 years of age) received 5 mg of loratadine syrup once daily. No unexpected adverse events were observed. Children aged 2 - 6 years: 2.5ml (1mg) every 4 to 6 hourly. Maximum daily dose: 15ml (6mg) in any 24 hours. Loratadine liquid may be easier for children to take than tablets. The medicine will come with a plastic syringe or spoon to help you measure out the right dose. If you do not have a syringe or spoon, ask your pharmacist for one.
