About this deal

Ashlee helps grieving women find hope and joy, even in the mourning. Ashlee is the founder of The Morning, an organization that provides helpful resources and community for women who have experienced the loss of a baby and she is host of The Joyful Mourning Podcast. Ashlee spends her days in sunny Florida, loving her husband Aaron, mothering their four children here on earth – Andrew, Asher, Adelee & Annie; while remembering and honoring her son in heaven, Aaden Sage Proffitt. To pray with confidence, we must humble ourselves and turn away from sin, anger, bitterness and grudges:

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26 NIV And how often should we pray? Ever pray and then wonder if it were going to do any good? Ever knelt down and bowed your head, but felt disconnected, as if your prayers were just drifting off into the ether? Ever had prayers go without an answer of any kind? In 2012, researchers at the University of Nebraska-Omaha asked 815 college students to identify their three greatest fears. Far more than they feared heights, flying, deep water, and even death, the students feared “speaking before a group.” Do you struggle with worry and anxiety? You’re not alone—Anxiety is arguably the #1 mental health issue today, even for Christians. We can start fresh today, no matter where we have been. And that's the beauty of knowing Jesus and having a real relationship with Him.

We have fasted before you!’ they say. ‘Why aren’t you impressed? We have been very hard on ourselves, and you don’t even notice it!’ I want us to run too. Not just on the pavement, but in our prayer lives. I want us to not feel so burdened by distractions or doubts. I want us to feel confident as we pray and develop a consistency that can’t be stopped by every noise or to-do on our list. Please pray with us for all t Nicole Moses and her family live and work in Sierra Leone, West Africa. They left their small-town Texas life for long-term service with unreached people in rural areas. She homeschools her 4 children and works as a pediatric occupational therapist alongside her husband Geoffrey, a family medicine physician. They’ve both learned the power of prayer in difficult and discouraging situations and strive to be a persistently prayerful person, drawn from the parable in Luke 18:1-8.Or not ready to take action today? I’m so grateful for all the truths and godly qualities that my pastor and church family planted in me during my growing-up years. But I have to say, in all the years I attended that church, I personally can’t remember a time when I heard anyone pray boldly or confidently. I simply had no idea what bold, confident praying sounded like until I attended a seminar at another church where a special speaker was teaching on the subject of faith.

God’s Word to us promises that there is authority in our prayers. They get things moving. They get results. Our prayer is the fuse and He is the dynamite. Stop believing the devil’s lies that you can’t pray. A lie that only serves to make you shy away from developing a strong prayer life. A full disclaimer, everybody can pray even if you don’t believe that you can pray. Prayer is simply talking to God just as you would any other friend. A friend that listens and will never divulge your darkest secrets. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 Father, thank You for giving us access to You through prayer and for the delight You take in listening. Will You forgive me when I go through the motions with my prayer life? Give me a pure heart, Father, to believe and not doubt. Lord, I want to trust not only that You hear me but that You’ll help me. I want to trust in your greater purposes for the countless things I do not know, see, or understand. Amen. Strong's 846: He, she, it, they, them, same. Instead of calling upon the mighty God of the universe and believing Him for the supernatural, we go aimlessly on our way -- spiritually impotent, unbelieving and fruitless. I know that you have blessed me immensely with talent and a resilient heart. Lord, I ask for your help as I pursue my dreams. Multiply my confidence and help me believe that you have set me up for glory. Amen. Have you ever tried hard to pray with confidence? What did it look like for you? Did you have the assurance the writer talks about in the verse? Why are we so spiritually impotent and fruitless today compared to the first-century Christians? I believe the answer is found in the word unbelief. Dear God, I have a test that I must pass. I need your guiding light to fill my mind and heart at this moment. I fear that I will forget what I have studied and that I will not pass the test. Give me the confidence to take the test without fear. You won over evil, and you are always there for me. I know that I will succeed in your Holy name. Amen. Remember that Jesus is praying too. In corporate prayer, we have the assurance of Christ’s presence (Matthew 18:20) and the promise of his intercession (Hebrews 7:25). A Christian never — never! — prays alone. Valerie and I discussed the prayer with Jesus in the garden, and it stops me every time because He was so honest with His emotions. We can really let our emotions and fears get in the way of prayer, and in this case Jesus says He will do whatever God wants Him to. It reminded me of Isaiah 58 , and I wanted to touch on a few things that align with our discussion about going through the motions and doing the “right things” and then wondering why God is not responding.
